Started my morning commute with some dash light surprises today. When I started it up, the check engine light and A-Trac indicators were on, and the Multi-Terrain indicator was flashing. I haven't touched either of these settings, so I'm confused about them - especially after a very normal afternoon drive home from work yesterday afternoon.

I read the code once I got to work and it showed a P0456 - Evaporative emission system leak. I made sure the gas cap was properly tightened, and that's all I've done so far.

Anyone encounter this before? Is there any reason all 3 of these would show up simultaneously, or is this just coincidence?

Just fyi it's a 2019 TRD Off-road with 21k miles, and so far I've babied it. Sorry if this is a common issue I'm not aware of - I did search the forum, and the only hits I got were for 4th gens..

Mine looked like that when I had a rodent-chewed injector wire. Worth checking out.

Read the code. If the CEL is flashing, the engine is misfiring more than likely due to rodent damage. A Trac Off light is normal with any CEL.

Did yours stay on or go intermittent? Mine was intermittent but can't find any wires. Thinking water trapped by speed sensor(s) in abs guard, water in harness for speed sensors, or gas cap. I did put a new gas cap on today and that seems to have done the trick.

Sorry, I don't remember - that was in 2019 when I'd only had my 4R for 2 weeks. I pulled over, shut off the engine, and let it sit for a while. When I started it back up, lights were all off. I made a beeline for the nearest dealership and that's where I found out about the chewed wire and got it repaired. Hasn't happened since.

So gas cap did not solve my problem. Heading to the dealer today.
