Hard to find a definitive answer searching the internet so thought I would post here and see if owners of both can weigh in. I have a 2021 Pro and want to replace the stock fog lights with either Baja Designs or Diode Dynamics. In Atlanta, rain/fog really only the inclement weather as we are lucky to get snow once a year. During rain or fog, I don't even really run the fog lights as the LED headlights are bright enough. Maybe a dark foggy night in the mountains they would help but I don't spend as much time up there as I want to currently. I currently have BD ditch lights for offroad excursions so not really hurting for more light but "more is always better".

I was contemplating getting the Baja Designs SAE so I could have them on whenever while driving since they are street legal but read they aren't that much different than stock fog lights. To me, that is a waste of money. So then I thought, if I am going to replace them, why not replace them with something that really shines the night. I have come to the conclusion that they don't need to be street legal as I wont use them as an everyday light and could use them like high beams and turn them off in proximity of oncoming traffic on rural roads and use them up in the mountains off road.

Looking at the DD website, it says the amber/yellow sport, pro, and max are all SAE so maybe their beam is more focused and they are street legal?

Have also read that BD's mounting kit is better than DD's?

OK, enough rambling......if money is no object, which one would you choose and why?

    Thanks!

I was in the same boat and went with DD Pro, ditch and fog light is what I run on my Pro. Bright as hell and plenty of power. No regrets.

I have the Amber DD fogs and 6” behind the grill light bars. Awesome products, will be getting ditch lights soon. Pretty much “Plug and Play”.

Thanks for the replies. Was looking at the Pro or Max and apparently both are street legal (according to DD website).

You won’t regret it. I’ve had a chance to use the lights for what they’re intended for and I was impressed with the brightness and clarity.

May not apply for Fog light but with my experience I have diode dynamics stage series 6 Driving light bars and not happy with the price tag compared to Amazon 32in light bars. With diode dynamics stage series 6 Driving light I do not see sharp forward lighting as shown on the website.

I have a feeling BD have better optics. Now I think I could have got cheap Amazon lights bar or buy once BD & cry once.

Have DD Max SAE Driving in white for front lighting when low beams wont cut it. They very much do spread like the picture posted above me from DD site.
Also have DD Max SAE Fog in amber and theyre ridiculously wide spread while stull pushing tons of light.
BD Pro in driving/flood for ditch lights.

Absolutely love them both for their purpose. But I say that as I agree with @Jynarik DD for fogs are excellent, BD for other uses. But its your money

Do DD and BD both have the option to change the lens/pattern?

Both have replaceable lenses. BD has the ability to change optics if so desired, dont know if you can with DD cause of their TIR optics tech.

The Max are way brighter than the stock LED headlights which I think are pretty bad.
