Brand new 2022. I notice when the air is off the vents still lightly blow. Is this normal in 4Runners? I’ve never experienced this in any vehicle I’ve owned or driven from cars all the way up to 7 tons.

Is it blowing only while moving and the vents aren't set to "recycle air"? If so, I'd say it's normal. If you don't have "recycle air" turned on I've noticed a slight breeze come through the vents on all my past vehicles while moving, including the 4runner. The faster the speed, the larger the breeze

I noticed early on when selecting floor heat vent only, a small amount of air flow comes out the windshield defrost vents. I was told this is normal by the dealership. My Sequoia doesn’t do this, but I decided it’s not a big deal and I definitely didn’t want to have the dash torn apart to prove a point either way. Not worth the risk of inducing dash rattles.

Press the recirc button on your climate control. Outside breezes will go away.

You can also rotate the vent control wheel to the OFF position.

The combination of multiple options can make everyone happy.

Well even on off it'll blow sightly when you move, unless recirc is on; but then you always run the risk of fogging. I think the design is such that they always want some low level of fresh air to circulate mainly to prevent fogging.

This makes sense. It still does it with recirc on. Not a huge deal. Just never experienced it before.

Pretty much normal. It's the outside air being pushed through the system. Should diminish when recirc is turned off

Per most/all modern vehicle designs, whether on fresh or recirc, there is a certain amount outside air entering the passenger cabin to reduce condensation and reduce carbon monoxide poisoning.
So instead of just going to sleep and dying, a person becomes a vegetable.

    Morbid but, by design.

Hopefully enough fresh air comes in to overcome those who drive with the hatch window open.
