Seeking a no-scoop hood has been on my mind since I purchased this. I bought way above my budget!

This is a former rental car with 50k and does have brush marks and some minor scuffing that is visible at something like 4 feet in subdued single source garage lighting. I have not attempted to wax, let alone buff it. It looks a lot better in the sunlight too.

Resigned to the idea of a scoop, I started this morning thinking about putting an LED light bar in it, I then migrated to a search for a replacement panel to eliminate the scoop and now I'm here.

 

I’ll swap with you if you come to NC, money and a 6pack of your favorite beer on my behalf!!!

I thought the same,lol. I often think that all the good deals happens in CA as well!

 

Heck, I headed up to Orange and Los Angeles Counties for 8 out of 9 of my car purchases in the last dozen years. I even travel 75 miles to get service done up there. It's so competitive and dealerships work harder to do things right because it's so easy to go somewhere else. Plus, consumer laws are a little stronger there too and that has helped me with one 4Runner that had to be bought back by the dealer with additional funds to compensate me.

 

What’s the most that people are willing to pay on top for a hood scoop swap? I have someone willing to do the trade but wants $650 on top. Is that too much??

 

I think so. If it's a swap it should be a swap not a sale with a core credit.

Truly, the only time I feel like an additional payment would be justified is if the conditions between the two were notably different.

 

That's absurd. Both sides benefit with the trade. He's trying to soak someone - don't let it be you.

 

Well, he truly don’t want to do it to begin with. He feels that he’s going to regret it eventually.

 

I’m the one who insisted on the trade and he ended up putting a price. He didn’t want to do a trade to begin with and perhaps the price is what is going to make him do it. I was also considering just buying a new OEM hood and painting it but all set and done its going to be over 1k. Plus the hood doesn't come with the actual scoop pieces and thats extra money as well. I've been waiting for months and the grand majority of people don't want to do the trade etc.
