In hindsight I sort of also wish I got my V8 Mustang convertible when I got out of college. Somehow going into public accounting and driving which was a 5 speed at the time did some seem practical. Growing up in metro Detroit and having a Dad who worked for Ford it was the car I dreamt about but sadly I never got it.

I let that bean counter stuff control me for a long time. Thankfully I grew out of it within reason.

My mom and dad met because they had 64, 65 Mustangs. So I’m kind of here because of Ford.

Every time I’ve had an accident it’s because of loose gravel on a turn usual unmarked construction they don’t do that shit any more.

If I had a decent paying job I would be driving a brand new Camaro.

My Dad likes to tell the story of his 64 Mustang convertible in British Racing Green which was his first new car when he started working at Ford. He called dealers living at home every night trying to find one and bought it over the phone after months of calls. He drove it up to Ottawa where he was raised and said he would come out of bar and 20-30 people would be looking at it since there were none up there yet.

Two months my uncle introduced my Dad to my Mom (he was dating the sister) and the rest is history.

My Dad loved that car and still talks about racing it and cruising with my Mom on Woodward avenue. Big dream cruise weekend coming up.

If I had the money and know how I would recreate that car for him. I still love hearing those stories. Simpler times

He certainly got more advice that he had hope to get with all of these misfits in this platform sharing. Interesting how we all evolve over time --- and yes, some don't evolve at all. Great posts by everyone.

Get the lift done first before tires and wheels.

Get your dream rims and dont settle on the TRD's.

Wait to get the bumper installed with the winch you impatient invertebrate. Now you wasted $700 having the bumper re-removed for the winch install.

Dont go to the Jeep shop. They are lazy and are going to ruin the threads on your bumper and frame. They will not tell you this.

Tandem Automotive is so much further away, but they are ethical, and anal about catching every single thing wrong with your rig. They take pride in their work. They will expose the sloppiness of the Jeep shop. You will be pissed but appreciative.
