I did version 2 of my sleeping platform. I’m by no means a carpenter. My last platform was half the thickness. And it warped and cracked because of it. So I went with 3/4 sande plywood. I also had them cut two 18”x34” pieces to make either a slide out table or possibly a hinged table with some legs. Haven’t decided. At the moment it provides a very solid base under the platform. It is almost perfectly flat. Mine was about 3/8” off with v1.

I have it bolted in the front and then I zip tie it with industrial zip ties in the rear. It’s not going anywhere. In second pic, I added another 2x4 so I could ultimately mount a fridge slide.

Im in a better mood now that I finished installing my cheap LED pods. LOL.

I’m a “deliberate” worker (aka slow), so I just finished up at 2am after starting in earnest in the evening. Dont like the lights, but the hard part is done, so I can swap out LEDs at will.

Question though: I noticed battery voltage is only mid 13v with the vehicle running. I noticed this before on my OBD, but never asked. Is this the normal 4runner voltage???

After 6 years, the step bars need a little POR-15 TLC

After 6 years, the nerf bars need a little TLC. POR-15 to the rescue.

I sanded and used a steel brush to get rid of the surface rust, but didn't bother to smooth out the rust that's bubbling from under the paint.

Hopefully I can just replace these with rocksliders in a few years.

The alternator is a “smart” alternator. Here is a link to show you how to “fix” that problem. Worked fine in my runner.

Always wanted to try some General Grabbers.

Had some KO2's on a work truck a while ago but they were E-load. Always been curious to try some C-loads.

Falken Wildpeaks were on the short list too.

Did the wheel liner mod to reduce some of the rubbing when backing out of my sloped driveway.

Received the hood scoop decal in the mail to prevent the annoying glare I'm getting during sunrise and sunset. When it's not 100 degrees out I will put that on after a car wash.

Mine have been on for almost 5 years. This is the second person I saw here redoing their NFABs.
Geeze, now I guess I will have to do mine too. They are staring to look a bit ratty. Now I just need to get my self moving. Winter is coming!

After 15 months, I finally removed the Toyota Predator Tube Steps. They retail from Toyota for $579. Hopefully I can sell them for $350. I am located in Frederick, MD if anyone is interested.

First of few mods. Haven’t hooked it up to a trailer yet, but it has power. Will test it sometime this week.

Not sure if good, silly, or moronic. I cut a notch into the curtain track to allow more cover from the curtain in the ("Pullover, I need to go right now!") toilet area. When the curtain goes the full length of the track it's just short of the ground, and a longer or wider curtain would not cover where needed but instead only add to the length and width of the curtain. On the other hand, the notch bypass does allow the curtain to reach the ground and a wider curtain (which I plan on adding greater width) would cover where needed. Unfortunately, I cut the notch more than needed (another distracted moment). On the back end, pun intended, while the notch allows the opposite end of the curtain to come closer to the door (back of the toilet) there is no change as to less or more coverage, which is fine as the seat cover of the toilet covers that end, (couldn't resist) pun intended again.

Alright I'll be that guy. You might want to reapply those letters on level ground.

How much do you charge to do a custom window? Asking of curiosity.

I think a little at hwy speeds, maybe be detectable with radio off. Only done one drive with wife talking (prefer wind noise), so I’ll have to wait to really pay attention when I’m on my own next time.

And the thing is. It's not the stick on letters. They had pre drilled holes and screwed in. But what's life without a bit of whimsy? Lol.

Now that it's on, I'm actually thinking of getting one without the holes and letters, just plain. Thought about paint to match also but that never works out to the same shade.

I like that these have grooves in the tread. I've found that AT's that have this are better in the rain.

That's my biggest complaint about KO2's........the random tread pattern. I feel like if they had a couple of these rain grooves, they'd be a better tire.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I didn't want to be that guy, but yikes. I think I'd notice it less if it was misspelled.

The guys over on tacomaworld seem to like the maxxis. Some even report if the tire is index to the dots on the tire and valve stems the tire balances perfect with no weight. They only weigh 39lbs in 265 and 43.5lbs in 285. Only thing the thread isn't deep, only 12/32

A few of my buddies have gone from KO2's to the coopers. My issue with the KO2's is the amount of weight needed to get them to balance and having to rebalance them at every rotation. It's just a little bit of an inconvenience. Everything else about them I've been happy with though.
