What tires are you running on your TRD Pro?

It's not like off the shelf Foxes which are tuned for performance.

I don't like them. They are loud on the freeway. I do not like how they handle on wet pavement and since I don't drive offroad very much at all, they do not fit what I want for my truck.

 

You've never driven one and it shows.

 

Going forward - when something has a capability that you don't necessarily need or desire it doesn't make that thing "shit".

 

Umm, OEM Fox suspension is stupid soft. He’s 100% correct.
No one is saying it’s a bad thing, so not sure why you feel like you have to compensate with raging.

 

I don't think the pro fox shocks are soft by definition, soft in comparison to 2.5 DSC's sure, but in comparison to the stock OR no.

 

Yes, but it regardless, the OP is experiencing his suspension’s ride, not his tires.

 

I really like my Nitto Ridge Grapplers, have 285’s and now 265’s, both E load. Both sets balanced perfectly and they are quiet. Not sure why so many people dislike the Nitto?

The Ridge Grappler is a hybrid tread design. Cross between MT and AT. They are pricey but what isn’t today.

 

I still think it's the SL tires, based solely on my experience though.

Actually, everything besides the PRO and Limited have the same shocks. The PRO should feel a bit less mushy due to the Fox shocks.

 

I really like my Grapplers that came with my Pro - I drove the 4Runner from Tennessee to Colorado last December through a set of heavy rain storms. Ran great on the highways for the first day and a half when I got to dry pavement. No handling issues and certainly don't seem too loud. I previously had an Expedition and it was fairly loud.
Took it out this past weekend on light trail (Phantom Canyon Road in Colorado) and had no issue either - my own opinion, but save your money for items you really need....

 

I love that drive, people just drive like idiots around the blind curves.

My 2019 ORP had the original Dunlop's on it when I purchased it. Last month I switched to Pirelli Scorpion Plus AT, in the stock size. Don't have a lot of miles on them yet, and all of those have been on road, but so far I really like them.

 

Bridgestone Blizzak seems to have 100% rating for inclement weather. Not sure about off-roading Capabilities though
Versus the K02 ( for aggressive looks and snowstorms).

Exactly my experience also, though not much snow around here, mostly mud and deep sand.

 

Since the OP mentioned sway during cornering, could that also be due to the smaller sway bar compared to the larger sway bar that comes on KDSS equipped 4Runners? In any case, it doesn't sound like new tires are going to fix the issue.

 

Tires do play a part, in sway around corners, responsiveness of the steering. Even running to low of air pressure can cause sway.

Since he has the Pro, I can understand him not wanting to mess with the suspension. Get some xl or c rated tires
