Yeah Friday-Sunday are the days I would be available. I try to go to Church on Sunday. Tomorrow won’t be going to church because the wife isn’t feeling great (not Covid but horrible cough and stuff). If you go tomorrow let me know.

That looks good. It will go down a little after a few days and some driving it around. Also you can get bigger tires and the green spring will disappear. ;)

Thanks, I’m sure it’ll be driven plenty next few days she absolutely loved it. She liked the tire size for now since they are brand new, completely forgot to measure everything before and after.

    Looks good to me!

I like the green springs. Enjoy and give us a driving report once you’ve had some time to get used to it. :)

I’ll do, she told me after driving home close to an hour highway an city that she absolutely loved the way it drove. She said it’s hard to explain but it’s stiffer but is exactly how she envisioned it riding and looking! Happy wife happy life! May take awhile for me to report, as I doubt she’ll be letting me drive anytime soon haha

    That’s awesome!

Glad your story had a happy ending. I think my wife was quietly pleased that I lowered my 4R. Now she doesn’t struggle to get in or out and she hasn’t quizzed me once about what I spent $$.

I would agree with you that happy wife, happy life. Although that’s not always easy to do. ;)

I guess you can call if that for her sake. I talked to her a little bit ago asking for a more detailed description on how it drove. She said it drove very well, maybe a slight vibration, but no noticeable difference hitting bumps (which was my biggest concern) I asked what she meant by vibration because that didn’t seem like a good thing to me, she said it’s not a vibration like something is wrong but like a slight roughness but she liked it. Hopefully I can figure out if something is wrong and get it adjusted soon.

I think the biggest draw for you is your newly discovered mpg! I’m still envious, I asked my mechanic to check and see what’s wrong with mine to have no added weight stock wheels and only get 17 mph. I cannot recall, how many inches was your lift? To me it wasn’t blatantly obvious ours was lifted, my wife said it wasn’t really any harder to get in or load kids in than before. She and my mechanic both said we made the better choice going ahead and doing a complete 3 inch lift. I think any less and we would have regretted it. Yes! Sometimes not as she’s already sending me the next mod she wants haha.

My initial mpg showed 20-21 but after more miles it has stabilized just under 19. So at the end of the day I’m guessing I will have gained 1-2 mpg.

One thing to keep in mind is that with stock 265’s the speedometer displays 1 mph faster than actual speed. I know this by driving past several speed signs that display the vehicles speed. With the 285’s the vehicle speedometer was dead nuts on with the speed sign.

This is why I think the mpg and odometer is off (reads faster) with the 265’s. I did ask the service manager if they did a speedo calibration with a tire size change and he told me that Toyota didn’t have provisions to adjust.

On a side note, he did say that they have to recalibrate the yaw sensor when adding or removing a lift. The sensor is for the vehicle stability system, apparently.

That’s interesting, but still in your favor nevertheless. That too is interesting I would go out on a limb and say that was most likely not performed on mine after the lift.

Thanks, and eventually these cooper at3 still have less than a k miles. Didn’t look as bad as I envisioned keeping 265s, and not too eager to blow another 1000 plus just yet. Can’t wait till they are on, but just not yet…

I kept 265s on mine with a 3" foam cell kit and I don't think they look "wrong". The trade off to the cool factor and a slightly higher approach/departure angle is lower mpg. Not justifiable in my mind. Would I enjoy the looks of 285s or similar? Yeah, sure, but I wouldn't replace my brand new KO2s for that reason.

I concur, I will get 385s next tire I purchase whenever that is. I love the ko2s, those and these at3 are the best tires I’ve ever owned.

So I finally got to drive the runner post lift, very briefly (3 miles) which I know isn’t much but my wife isn’t going to let me drive her dram car much.

overall not bad, not bad at all. The stiffer ride she and some others on here reported to expect wouldn’t be the word I would use. Tighter… the steering was tighter, like power steering is going out but not terrible don’t even dislike it. I just personally like a very smooth ride, that’s why we had a suburban…

I was pleased with the steering though, the ride wasn’t much different than stock on open roads, not better as customer service stated but little to no difference than stock.

going over bumps… I can tell a difference, pretty noticeable at that. Not horrible to where I’m running to shop to get it off, but it definitely feels different, a bit rougher, raddled the whole cab a bit but not bad.

overall I like it, will report back after it settles a bit and I get to drive it more.

how do you like the nittos performer, ride quality, noise, did you notice any difference in ride height getting the bigger tires? I feel like mine isn’t as high as most 3in lift and wondering if it’s because tires size. I guess any and all Info you can provide to help me make a decesion is appreciated

Yes there is a difference in ride height. Remember to divide in 1/2. So I came from a 31.6” tire to a 34.09 (according to Nitto). So that is a 3.5” difference in total tire circumference but you only gain 1/2. So that gave me a lift around 1.75”.

Happy to meet you on the trailhead before you make a purchase and we you can see them for yourself. :)
