Wife left me alone for a couple of hours so I snuck out the money gun and traded our ‘17 SR5P for this ‘21 Pro.
I have been researching the forums but can’t find specs on the new wheels. Anyone know if the stock wheels on this pro will take 275 70 17’s? If so, I’m guessing given the added factory front lift from the Fox suspension should help a larger tire fit?
I haven’t put back the money gun so please hurry with suggestions before she sees it’s missing.

    Thanks for that.

Hope you’re staying cool in ATX. THat’s our home base but we’re in New Mexico for the Summer trying to avoid the heat.

Since the newer Pro has the higher (somewhat lifted) Fox suspension, I’m trying to decide which way to go with wheels, tires, lift, etc. Prefer to keep the stock pro wheels as I’ve had poor history (steering wheel wobble) with balancing of after-market wheels with larger tires.

The 275’s and Method wheels I put on my ‘17 SR5P required mud flap removal and front wheel well relocation. Just wondering if that’s all the pro will require if use stock wheels and 275’s.

I have 285's on stock pro wheels. Eibach pro springs with 1.4" lift in front and 1" in the rear and I was able to keep my front mud flaps and no trimming was required either.

    Nice! Good to know.

-What brand and model tires are you running on the stock wheels?

    - For clarity- I’m understanding you just swapped springs front and rear for Eibachs and kept the stock Fox shocks?

If you’re running stock offset, you shouldn’t have any issues with 275’s or 285’s. It’s when you move to a different offset when things start having to be trimmed

Yes, planning to use the stock 2021 Pro wheels.
I've read that (depending on which brand of tire you are used) 285's on these stock rims might be problematic due to the tire needing a bit wider wheel?

The Eibach pro springs you describe sound like a good and simple solution for what I'm wanting but, unless I went to the wrong place on their website, I can only find weight leveling or pro kits that only have the rear springs for '21 TRD pros?!

some of the brands do run a bit larger, but I haven’t heard of anyone having to do anything outside of removing mud flaps or heating up front fender well and moving it. I had 285’s on stock wheels and spacers made me do some work to get them to fit without rubbing.

these are the pro lift springs I had as well in this pic

The link you provided is helpful. Thanks. Funny thing is, I still can’t find them on the website on my own!??
BTW, great looking Pro you have.

Edit: just figured out the disconnect- yours is a ‘19 Pro. Mine is a ‘21. I believe factory suspensions were changed for the pro after your model year. Eibach doesn’t have that kit for the ‘21.

Maybe give them a call tomorrow. They’re super helpful. I don’t think anything changed with the 2021, but could be wrong.

and thanks! She looks a bit different these days

I’ll say! Looking great. Do you do your own wrenching or have someone in Austin area do it? I’m planning small bumper/winch like your older images.
BTW, is that latest pic out by Hamilton Pool?

Depends on what it is and what time of the year it is lol! Triple C Chop Shop will do most of my bigger stuff. Pic was somewhere off a construction path in Georgetown. Nice little surprise.

    What part of NM?

Lucky you! My wife and I love it there. Had a job offer in our favorite little town Ruidoso but could not find housing worth a crap!

Ruidoso is great too. Kinda smallish.
We looked there. More options here. Do all our off roading around here. Beautiful country all around NM.
I’ll check w Eibach this week.
Did Triple C install your previous small winch bumper?

Hope you guys had a nice visit to SAF. Are you using a shop in the area to do your mods or DIYing it? Looking to install some sort of lopro bumper with winch and I haven’t found anyone beyond Chris Romero at Affordable Alignments in SAF but he is good with suspensions/lifts but not armor.

Everything I've done to my 4R, with the exception of the alignment, has been DIY by me. I checked out the local Albuquerque Desert Rat Offroad when I was installing my Eibach shocks, and they were a reasonable price, but that was early on in the pandemic, and I decided to tackle it myself.

I'm in Albuquerque, so I'm not familiar with what's available in Santa Fe.

Yes TRD Pro wheels can take 275/70R17 tires max with in specs. its the 285/70R17 that TRD Pro wheels are not approved to be used.

Only TRD Offroad wheels meets the specs to mount 285s.

But be careful as tire sizes like 275/70R17 or 255/80R17 have pretty poor choices. Many 275/70R17 are Load E tires that would give a pretty hash ride on road and couple of Load C options like Falken Wildpeaks are extremely heavy. Heavier than common Load E options.

Thanks for that. The Falken chart is helpful. Had 275 WildPeaks on our last T4R and they were good tires.

I have Falken Wildpeak P285/70R17 on my Limited and its a good tire. Its just their too heavy 275/70R17 Load C is what I don't like. My 285s have less weight than those 275s.

Unless I misunderstood your post saying the 285’s are lighter, Discount Tire specs show the 285 weighs 6lbs more than the 275. They report the 285 at 64lbs and the 275’s at 58.

Interesting. I can’t find the 285 in SL load. Only C1. I’ll check further.
Edit: Always learning - that’s why I’m here. Went to tire Rack and found the SL version. As you said, according to tire rack website, the Falken 285 in SL is 4lbs lighter than the 275 in C1 load rating.
