So got a question for you pest experts. I'm currently renting a single family home. Out back I have a small deck and concrete slab. There's nothing crazy and it's pretty boring and standard, but I have an obscene amount of flies. I walk outside and am instantly swarmed. I set traps and they fill up within a week.

What gives?? Where are they coming from? There's literally nothing out there for them to breed in. My only idea is the neighbors have a chicken coop against my fence so maybe it's that?

Any words of wisdom would be great!

No wind? Atleast they are not biting. I think my neighbors burn stuff for them cause it’s not like normal wood smoke.

No wind whatsoever. My backyard is completely fenced so it's very placid back there.

There was a hatch. One time last year I think, there were flies all over inside I went to war with the fly swater and won.

You know their chicken coop is supposed to be 20 feet from the property line too. Or something something.

I could find out what my neighbors burn and in turn will cook them out of their house?

Little trick I learned recently is use pine sol (with pine oil, it’ll say on back; some newer stuff doesn’t have it), and use in spray bottle to spray down area. It’s honestly worked amazing for me and it smells good lol

I’ve got a colony of Swallows living in my chimney. I bet they consume a lot of bugs.

I'm not sure my schedule would allow for miniature falconry, but maybe I could convince the wife!

If you’ve got a dog make sure all it’s poop is near the fence...pretty sure they’ll find that tastier than you...

Saw a simple cardboard cone about 24” across and 12-15” tall with a 2” hole in the top...the guy sprayed adhesive inside and placed it over the “attractant” (poop)...w/I a few hours he picked it up and the inside was fully coverd...just a thought..
