I've always liked the idea (especially for the limited space 4Runner) of the rear quarter window mollie panel, but fixed income finances limited my options so I put together some 1/2" PVC and made up a "wanna be" panel. Originally I held the top end in place by a heavy duty suction cup fastened to the window - worked for a couple of months then everything came tumbling down. This time I fabbed a brace out of 1/8th" aluminum secured by the coat hangar 10mm bolt on top and a tiny wire cable holding the bottom in place - I think this time it may hold together a little better than first attempt.

I removed the plastic T-hook (LR), the plastic collar and the Phillips head bolt. Using a stainless steel eye-bolt (left over from a fishing magnet used to secure solar panel to roof). I had to slightly elongate the eye-bolt so I could reuse the original bolt - it's a tight squeeze but with a little persuasion you can drive the bolt through the eye-bolt hole. Then I added a appropriate size fender washer and reinstalled the screw.

Agree, and probably way cheaper than the molle system I bought. WTH is that giant battery pack looking thing at the bottom? Is that for the roof solar panel you mentioned? If it's anywhere close to the weight of the heavy ass lead acid UPS I bought for the house router (yours is twice the size) and attached, it's no wonder it shook loose the first time!

    Nice!

I made one out of aluminum flat stock as well. Now I just need more stuff to hang on it. :D

Not solar (LOL) it’s a battery charger for my DeWalt batteries.

    Genius!

It would be great to see a picture of it with no gear on it. I’ve used poultry flooring as a platform for a roof basket before. It might be useful as a “molle” panel too. (We really need to come up with a more generic term.)
