    Hi All,

I've tried searching and haven't found a ton of info. What's the scoop if one wants to add an aftermarket steel rear bumper for off roading/spare tire carrying etc.. but has rear parking sensors. I've only found one bumper that accomodates them, and it is a "weld it yourself".

Do you just disconnect them and rely on the camera and your eyes (which is fine). Are there bumpers out there that accomodate? If you do have to disconnect them, does it make the backup camera screen/system/beeps go crazy? Is there some sort of "dummy plug" you would need to use?

I have a '22 OR for reference. Appreciate any insight!

Parking sensors?I thought only Limiteds and their offsprings had parking sensors . My 22 ORP doesn't and it wasn't an option .
Are you talking about the radar units for blind spot monitoring, cross traffic , safety nannies ect in the corners under the bumper cover?
They are calibrated and would have to be exposed or deleted I guess.

Well, it is clear I never paid attention despite personally washing my 4R myself weekly. Been without it for 45 days, long story, so it didn't even occur to me to check. I was envisioning those little circles all around the bumper all of this time, even though they are not there.

Long story short, I'm a dumbass and thank you for the intel !

And so to clarify, most aftermarket metal bumper should work no problem, as long as the radar units are exposed, yes?

Aftermarket rear bumpers are going to be a challenge.
Somebody needs to design one with a hole there and a cage for them as they are expensive. Maybe make your own little window for them ? It's calibrated for where it's at ,so don't know about relocating them.

Don't know what lights you'll throw if you take them off. I guess you could reach up under there and unplug one of them to see.
Here's a driver side pic I took when I had my rear bumper cover off. I believe they are K band like everybody else's. Right about level with the bottom of the back door.
