    Hello folks-

I’m planning on installing my SS3 Pro fog lights this weekend, and am wondering what folks do with the plastic housing behind the passenger fog light. Do you reinstall it or toss it? Just curious of general consensus.

    Thx!

Yeah. I’ll put it back on but not entirely sure of its purpose.

I think it’s there so when you fill up the windshield washer fluid… if it overflows or you spill some, it won’t dump all over the fog light harness.

I don’t know for certain, but that’s my guess. I heard another theory too, but I can’t remember it at the moment.

You might not even need to install the cover back as i guess aftermarket fogs are well covered vs the old halogen housings.

It’s supposed to be a splash shield. In the passenger wheelwell there’s cutouts in the plastic liner for the air intake. Water can get flung in there and theoretically hit the connector of that fog light.

And possible, when the foggers are on, cause thermal issues like cracking a lens or blowing a bulb from the sudden temp drop of cold water. Sounds like a legit reason...
Being that its not difficult to reinstall, just another reason to put it back in.
