I know this is "out back this evening" but this picture is out back this afternoon. My pollinator/game-bird field is coming along nicely. Soon there will be lots of milkweed and other flowering plants blooming along with some taller grasses putting on seed heads. Lots of butterflies, bees, quail, wild turkey, and deer hang out back here. Each year, I am trying to get rid of the fescue and KY bluegrass and replace with native grasses like big and little bluestem, Indian grass, pink muhly, etc.

I just waded out to save a young goose then realized a huge snapping turtle had its foot!!!

 

Where’s the Woodduck’s young? That’s it I’m eating turtles!!!

 

My catfish should bite at 7am I’ve been up all night waiting.

 

I think I drank enough coffee to kill an elephant.

 

Unless THAT’s the hatchling, yes, prob.

 

GD catfish! At 5:15am the water was boiling with fish. My RoyalCoachman was tearing them up every cast for 15 minutes then they disappear.

This guy has been hanging and flying with the Canadians. I think it is a Grey goose.
