I had it done by the dealer. The clear bra covers the entire hood, bumper, both front fenders, and the strip of the roof from the windshield to the sun roof. They did a really good job. Total cost for the install was $1400

My dealership finally tracked down a 22 Army Green trail edition 2 months ago. It was at port & “on hold” & is supposed to be released on July 5th. Predator steps were the only add on. Maybe a chip shortage thing ?

Well today is 7/11/22 and it is still at the port. I spoke with the dealer last week and he has 17 units that that he hasn't been able to get delivered.

I had planned my purchase around two vacation/road trips and I already missed the first one and I doubt I will have the 4Runner for the second one on the first week of August.

It is friggin' ridiculous that it is sitting for 46 days in NY.

    See ya,

My truck is still sitting at port on hold as well. Dealership has no clue why. Toyota was supposed to have their “project ETA” real time vehicle locator up & running by end of last month…perhaps that is on hold as well….

It has arrived. I did a drive by of the dealership on the way to work yesterday and saw a 4Runner that met my order specs. I have been dealing with the owner and he was on vacation last week so nobody told me that it was in. She actually arrived on Friday so it was actually 43 days from arrival at the port to delivery to the dealership. The only port mods that were done is the black out kit.

Today she is getting her rims painted and I have a 3:00 appointment to finalize everything.

    See ya,

Bottom right next to ‘post reply’ is ‘upload file’.
Before you accept delivery take a test drive and get it up to 60-70mph to check for steering shimmy which I should’ve done. Seems like ~63mph is the most prevalent.

How do you know when your 4R goes from "F" status to "G". I put a deposit on my 4R 7/11 (with VIN on dealer's site) and dealer told me it was in port in Seattle, WA on 7/12 but arrived at port on 7/6. How do I do all this tracking? I find myself looking through types of ships on the maritime vessel site to find vehicle carriers that are coming from Japan.

Sounds a bit fishy….I have a 3 week old 4R and no recall notice.

Yea, I’m thinking it may have been damaged. I haven’t seen others waiting on any PART recall at port. Toyota will never come clean on that. I’m planning to bring a buddy who owns a body shop to inspect it on arrival to the dealership

More recalls for the tundra were just announced, maybe the dealer got confused.

You have to have a windows computer.
Copy/paste this into the address window and put your vin in and hit enter.

    https://guest.dealer.toyota.com/v-spec/Your vin # here/detail

If I remember right….right click on the page, pick “inspect” then put your vin in the vin blank space and reload the page. This kinda gets you “under the hood” of the Toyota/dealer page. Look for the status letter.

Hopefully my old dried out brain remembered the steps correctly, good luck.

You are close, either I forgot a final step or the truck isn’t listed or your zone doesn’t use this method. Hopefully some other more computer savvy member jumps in.

This is a good reference thread on the overall process (very similar to the steps that @2ndGen22re shared). Based on what I've read here and elsewhere, assuming you've followed those steps correctly and still seeing that error the only two things that could be the cause are 1)incorrect VIN, or 2)the vehicle is no longer for sale.

Regarding #2, I tried this method using my VIN after I'd purchased my 4Runner and received the same error as you. There may be other legit flags that can be set by the dealer or Toyota that would cause this result (maybe pre-sold?) but I'm not aware of them. Probably best to call your dealer and find out.

thank you for the information! The dealer's site shows the 4R still listed for sale, but I have put in a down payment to reserve the vehicle, and signed a contract to purchase. They assured me it was mine when it comes but they weren't sure when it would come in, only that it was in port. Dealer stated it's status was in port as of yesterday but was due to arrive in port 7/6.

If a vehicle is damaged…it will show on history…. Probably the last thing they want to tell you though

Got some vehicle alerts through the app yesterday and 1 mi showing on the odometer on the app. Dealer/Salesman texted saying no updates - hoping that means my rig is getting processed at port right now? Looks like it has quite a few port installed options (were pre-selected in allocation) so maybe waiting on those as well?

I had a couple alerts, then nothing for a few days, then a day of alerts, then a day or two, then a couple more alerts the day the 4Runner flipped to F status. My best guess - first batch was when it was unloaded, second batch was the day the port options were installed, and the third batch was the morning it was loaded on the truck for transport to my dealer (local to the port).
