Indeed, the base EV has a lower MSRP than the comparable ICE version. Re markups, yes no doubt lots of dealers are doing that and people are paying it. The market is a mess, with demand outstripping supply and thus the fact that sometimes used cars sell for more than new MSRP -- cause if you want or need it now, that's the only way to get it. I've just read of people who paid MSRP for the Lightning and note that some dealers will not do markups as a matter of policy. My big Toyota dealer is like that. I placed an order for a 2023 GR86 and no arguing was needed to settle on msrp. This is a car that's selling for way over msrp used, and on which other dealers were def marking up.

It's good that some dealerships are not gouging. I think it's a good long term business plan, as I don't think many customers are likely to return to a place that charged a "market adjustment" during this time.

I'm still curious how the next generation 4Runner will be priced after it became clear that people are willing to pay over MSRP for the current outdated version.

Just like cheaper than dirt gouges on mags and ammo during elections. For that reason I don't buy anything from them ever no matter how bad I need it. just for GP...

That Doug DeMuro review of the Suzuki Jimney was really interesting. (yes, strange name). At that price point, I can understand the popularity of that vehicle. The small, under-powered engine being a trade-off I guess. With the strong off-road market in the U.S., I wonder why Suzuki does not offer it here ? On the other hand, if Suzuki is already at 100% manufacturing capacity for this vehicle, there's no point in just adding to a back order list. Too bad.
The relative simplicity of the Jimney some what reminds me of why I liked my FJ Cruiser so much.

It could have something to do with US emissions or fuel economy requirements. :notsure:

I thought of that right after I Posted. Yes, you could be right. If Suzuki is already selling out every where else, they may consider it not worth the hassle to become U.S. compliant.

They need to sell more than 260 to increase the impact.

I've mentioned elsewhere on the forum that I'd buy one of these in a hot minute if it came in SUV form and they'd sell me the bigger battery. I'd be really tempted even with the smaller battery. The specs are incredible. I just don't have any use for a pickup and so think it would be kinda ridiculous to have one.

Edit: to expand on this, I also don't have any use for two SUVs (let alone two SUVs plus the sports car I've ordered!). So if Ford would sell me a SUV on the Lightning Pro platform with bigger battery, then, yes, I'd literally trade the 4R in for that. I have the luxury of being able to charge at home, and also of my wife having an ICE SUV in case we need to schlep a few people or bunch of stuff on a long road trip.

I'm sure it varies with speed and depending on the weight and wind resistance of the trailer, too.

What's the range with the big battery?

I still think the hybrid/turbo should be winning the poll. But, a least the option that should be losing is losing. :D

Still pretty weak, unless that's based on 85 MPH. My work truck can do 400 if I take it easy.

Agreed 320 miles is not that compelling. I've literally gotten 400 in the 4R with a few gallons to spare, albeit under pretty ideal conditions. But 320 is more than enough for the use I'd be putting it to. As mentioned, I'd be willing to take the plunge only because I'd have my ICE sports car / DD and my wife has an ICE SUV. I don't see going full EV for another 5-10 years. Cause of both meh range and spotty charging infrastructure for long road trips.
