Will upgrading UCAs reduce front-end “sag”?

    Hey all,

    I’ve noticed the front end of my truck has started to “sag” a bit mainly due to the low profile bumper I added. I currently have the Pro Fox suspension and was wondering if I need to upgrade the entire suspension system or if there’s anything else I could do to help offset the sag?

    The Pro Fox suspension has been amazing and I would hate to replace/upgrade it. I’ve heard some people upgrade UCA’s or use spacers as an alternative solution. Would ya’ll recommend this?

    Any help is appreciated.

    I don’t think UCA’s will help with ride height, (they tend to only affect caster). I would definitely do a spacer in your case. Personally, I’d probably do a cornfed spacer, sub-$100 for just the front I believe (do a forum search, Chris is a trustworthy vendor), but I think there might also be a more expensive Pro-specific lift available if you’re interested (I think it’s Eibach?).

    A spacer or new springs is what you need. How much did it sag?

    Thanks for the help! I’m not very familiar with spacers but I’ll definitely take a look. My only concern would be it’s effect on ride quality.

    Not very much yet - about half an inch, but I will be adding some more parts soon which will add more weigh to the front-end.

    Thanks! I’ll check these out, I like that they mention it won’t affect OEM ride quality.

    I believe you can do up to 3/4” (maybe a full inch) without needing to add the spacer interior to the strut. I’d be surprised if you found much of a difference between now and adding a top hat spacer. The only true loss (opinions differing, it’s probably better to say ‘change’ than ‘loss’) of ride quality occurred when you added the weight, preloading your struts. Raising the vehicle weight upwards with a top hat spacer at this point I don’t believe you’ll feel. Except maybe getting into the truck :) But I encourage you to reach out to Chris, he knows WAY better than I.

    I take it you don't plan to off-road the vehicle much with this setup? Stock UCA?

    Spacer lift is both a bandaid and will present some other issues if you go offroad, not recommended. Heavier rate springs would be the proper way to address the added weight.
