One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
The ship with my 4R docked 6/6 Sunday midnight at Long Beach and went to “F” Monday 6/7 in the afternoon. I was able to figure out what ship it was on when the dealer said it was built and leaving the port in Japan. I think it gets the “F” after it is processed w/port options installed ready to ship. I was told on 6/8 by the salesman it is waiting for ground shipment.
I am about 500 miles away from the port. How far away from the port are you? I know there is a truck driver shortage so that might contribute to a delay. Depending on how far/location you are from the port probably will determine if it comes by rail and then truck or just by truck.
mwill07 said it took his 11 working days, my salesman said about 2 weeks, others further away from the port have said several weeks. Mine has shown up on the dealer website inventory with no picture and it is in transit now for a few days. In other words, who knows. Can you see the PDF window sticker on the dealer’s website? It has a watermarked date on it that I think will tell you when the “F” status was assigned.
That full tank of gas is becoming more valuable by the day.

for reference, my port options were new wheels and floor mats - that's it. So 11 days is probably what it took to work through the que, because the actual labor involved was a matter of an hour or so. Also, this was the port of Newark and my dealer was in Virginia - 7 hours away.

I think "F" is when it is scanned in at the port, and "G" is when it is scanned out. Pure speculation on my part though. So, it took 11 working days to work through the que

Some have said “G” is when it lands at the dealer, I am getting antsy. Mine received “F” the same day as the watermark.

I was in "F" status for 14 days and the only 3 days in "G". I was 500 miles from Portland and it was delivered by Semi-truck. It can take weeks if yours has to go on a train first. My ORP had several items added on at the port and that might have been why it was in "F" for so long. I do know it was worth the wait! I have 50 miles on it now LOL. The only day off from work was last Sunday or else I would have more miles on it by now. Good luck.

Thank you for the valuable feedback! I am in Salt Lake City, so about 700 miles from Long Beach. Interesting thought about “F” status though. When I spoke to my dealer on 6/11, he said “should be here soon”. So maybe you’re onto something there. As for the window sticker, I don’t even see my vehicle on the dealer’s website, so I’m guessing there’s no way to access it in that case. Oh well… I’ll just keep impatiently waiting like many of us.

How were you able to see the watermark? Was your 4R showing up on your dealer’s website for you to see it? Sorry, I’m still very new to this and learning, but I find it very interesting! Thanks

Mine was put on the dealers website the day I put the deposit down, it took almost 4 weeks to get to the dealer in SC.

Any update from your dealer yet? Our Runners are probably from the same boat if yours landed in Long Beach…

I bet yours was on the same ship as ours because the ship’s deliverys are not that often.
The Salesman called a couple days ago and basically told me what I already knew that it is sitting in port ready to ship. I didn’t tell him I have been tracking it with the “inspect” method.
He said I should see it by the end of the month and he would call me when it ships when it is on the truck in Long Beach.
I think he was feeling me out on my commitment because of the gas price debacle.
The dealer’s inventory website displays how many folks have inquired on the availability of their vehicles. Mine has 37 inquiries and a Pro has 49.
Currently just 5 days short of 6 months since I put down the deposit.

6 months?? Oh my .. I thought I had to wait a long time and it only took me 30 days. Did you custom order one or was it an allocation?
I will say that it will be worth the wait. I am in love with my ORP.

    January 22 deposit.
I was in no big hurry, I worked through a medium size local dealer that only sells MSRP and I just filled out a “want / don’t want” list, so I guess I kinda ordered it. The salesman said I was the most product knowledgeable customer he has ever had and the fastest sale. I am going to get exactly what I want except the moonroof I didn’t want but it seemingly turned into a required evil in this trim, option combo. It will be a very nice 4R and only 12 miles away to pick up.

I’ve just noticed the TRD wheels on your 4R are slightly different than all the previous ones. The spokes and around the lugs are a different shape. I like yours better, I hope mine come through the same.

After a little more research I think you are correct on what the “F” and “G” represent.

The window sticker says they are TRD PRO wheels. I really like them even though I am disappointed that they didn't have the Pro tires.
The first day full I had the 4Runner it was raining really bad and they Dunlop tires that are on it handled great in the rain. I didn't do any panic stops that day because it only had 4 miles when I took off for the drive and only had 35 miles when I got home. I did take some very sharp turns and the Dunlop tires stuck to the road. I am still going to get the Falken tires they are offering for $1000 if I give them the Dunlop's but they said I could keep the Dunlop's and they will charge me $1300. I have a place to store the Dunlop's and if the Falkins wear out fast I will have the original tires to put back on it.

Mine arrived at port 5/25 and was delivered to the dealer 6/17 so it was about 3 weeks. It showed up on the dealerships website as Inventory (In Transit) about 3 days before it physically was delivered.

Can anyone provide a little more insight into the Toyota App notifications? 4 days ago I started receiving a bunch of notifications that kept coming for 2 days. For the last 2 days though it’s been crickets. And the notifications haven’t shown anything in particular. I just get notified that I have multiple notifications and to check the app for more details, but the app doesn’t show much else besides 1 mile on the odometer and a 1/4 tank of gas. As of today it is still in “F” status. My dealer told me it was at the port for processing on 6/2, so I’m assuming it was in “F” status at that point, but I can’t know for sure. The suspense of waiting is killing me haha. A white TRD Pro 4R has been my dream car for a long time, and now that it’s so close, it’s getting difficult to focus on much else. Any input from others who have downloaded the app and received notifications throughout the process is greatly appreciated! By the way, I live in Salt Lake City, UT if it helps anyone to estimate potential delivery times. The “inspect” method isn’t showing eta on delivery right now. Not sure if they disabled that feature or not… Thanks everyone!

I am going to run the Dunlops to New Years(snow) and maybe just give them to my one of my kids. They both have 17” rims.
Toyota must’ve just updated the wheels and juiced the price, my wheels MSRP went up $500 since January. Look close on the lug area from a 2021. Stew7 4run above has your wheels and the 40th Anniversary does as well, just a different finish. The face of the spoke area is different and the rim edge has shallow divots, just a little more subtle.

I didn't use the APP so can't help you with that but, you should ask the dealership if the 4Runner will be coming from Longbeach on the rail road. There is new car distribution area north of SLC where the cars coming into that area are unloaded from the trains. Then semi trucks would pick the new cars/trucks and take them to the dealerships in the Intermountain West. I grew up in Idaho Falls and my buddy's family owned a rental car business in I.F. and Jackson Hole. They would bring us to the Train off load point North of SLC to help drive new rental cars back to Idaho Falls Idaho.
My 4Runner came from Portland Oregon and once it went to "G" status it was in Boise late on the 2nd day to late for the dealership to call me. I went down and picked it up on the 3rd day of "G" status. I'm 56 and have bought 7 new cars over the last 35 years and this was really strange waiting for a new vehicle. When it gets there make sure you do a complete walk around before signing the papers. I was so excited I just wanted to run in and sign but my wife told me to go look at it and make sure everything looks good before signing all the papers.

Inspect is all I’ve got. Mine was in port 6/7, salesman said it should be here by the end of the month.

Did your dealer by chance tell you if it’s coming by truck or rail by chance?

I believe he mention transport truck.
I know there is a problem getting truck drivers, especially ones that have a smog legal truck in California.

    I’ve got 10yrs on you, 66 here.
I’m bringing my best friend who has a vey sharp eye for detail and won’t be mesmerized by excitement to pick up from the dealer. My wife has poor vision and a very low tolerance waiting for paperwork to be done.

Thanks! The appearance on the dealers websites seems to be inconsistent across the board but better to see it there than not!

It was a long wait but nice to finally see it in person and I got pretty much exactly what I wanted. They let me take it out for a drive on my own to make sure it was fully as expected before going through any paperwork. I'll take final delivery this week because it still needs its final cleaning and prep.

Based on my experience (and a ton of speculation), there were two 'batches' of notifications: during port processing and when the 4runner was being loaded onto the truck.

I started watching the app once it was close to my dealer's estimated port date. Close to the date I noticed more icons in the app (can't remember which, sorry) and I turned on notifications. Nothing happened for a couple weeks, then a flurry and the mileage went from 2 to 3, then silence. I think this was the port installed options for my Pro. Things were quiet for a few days and then there were a small number of notifications one morning, then the status flipped from F to G later that day. My dealer is local-ish to Portland so mine skipped the train and went straight from port to a truck.

In your case, it may be on a train making its' way to the local hub to be unloaded and transported locally by truck. I think that is also F status, and can't speak to how that might impact the timing of what I shared above.

ETA on delivery has not been included in the 'inspect' method for at least as long as I was tracking mine, which started in April. Others have suggested that Toyota stopped giving ETAs due to the schedule unpredictability of supply chain, production pauses, labor shortages, etc.

Hang in there - you're getting close. Good luck!

I leaned towards LR but liked AG, either TRD color is fine with me. The wife was just the opposite on color she preferred AG but liked LR, we made a deal which ever color came through 1st that had KDSS and MTM we would buy……she won…oh darn….and loving it.
Edit; we didn’t want a moonroof, but eventually gave in after 4 months which added a lot of time.

Thank you for the valuable insight! Nobody else has mentioned several batches of notifications, so that’s really helpful. Seeing that my last notification was 4 days ago now, maybe I’ll get another small batch of notifications early this week
