Would having a white roof greatly improve interior temps?

Anyone that previously had a fj care to comment?

I'm having my roof wrapped to protect it from when I throw the kayaks bikes, lumber, etc. Up there. Clear, black, white all cost the same.

Well, not quite apples to apples but I’ll chime in here. I had a black ‘10 Limited and now have a ‘22 SR5, not that the models really matter I guess. My new white one is considerably cooler than the black was, by a lot. That being said, the black also had black leather interior so it would heat up like crazy. The white one has black/gray fabric so not quite the same, but the white one is noticeably cooler after a long day sitting in the FLA sun while I’m working indoors.

I painted the roof of mine with white Raptor Liner. My truck is black. It seems to help.

This is one of the reasons I chose white and left the roof rack bars and end caps silver. I would give the white wrap a try.

How is the raptor liner holding up on the roof? I thought about using bedliner instead of a wrap since it's more durable, and my roof gets abused by low branches.

Every vehicle I’ve owned except my former 95 Honda Civic has had paint issues. So it stands to reason that I would buy a white T4R. So far, my 2018 hasn’t exhibited any paint problems, knock on wood.

Its an extended warranty program by Toyota like a good faith kinda thing so its no cost to the owner as long as its not due to an accident.

Vs there is a Honda group I'm in and Honda simply denies paint issue claims (as of now).

Our Venza was white and didn't had issues for 5 years until sold. It was parked outside during day time. Even if you get any issue I'm pretty sure you will have no problems dealing with Toyota. Even if dealer denies Toyota Corp always stand with customer with my experience.

    Edit -
To give some info how strong Toyota Corp is when I had the dispute with Toyota Dealership after the crash I complain to Toyota Corp on Saturday afternoon and I got a call from Toyota Dealership General Manager on Sunday apologizing and promised to take the case by him Monday morning. I think ToyotaCorp is no joke.

It has been on there about a year maybe, doing fine. I put 2 layers of clear over it and it spends the night under a carport 75% of the time. So far so good!
