That information came directly from my dealer. The API method of tracking didn't show this level of detail.

April 6 our dealer got an allocation of a Metallic Gray Off Road Premium 4Runner and it was offered to us and of course we took it. Seven weeks later we are still waiting so I hope you have a shorter wait period.

My 4Runner has been processed and ready sitting at the port of Newark since 5/11. Dealer is in WV and told me it should’ve been there by now. They received like 3 of 11 4runners that they had just delivered to the port. It hasn’t ever taken this long at the dealership and now I’m stuck here waiting for it with no answer. I haven’t read the entire thread but this not knowing what’s going on sucks. Especially when you’re in the middle of no where…

Mine arrived at port(Portland) around 5/5 and I just received a call from the salesman that it’s loaded on a truck and heading North(1 hour South of Seattle). Should be at the dealer hopefully early enough tomorrow that I can pick it up Friday morning, if not, Saturday morning for sure.

Did your 4Runner have a lot of accessories that needed to be put on at the port?

Not many at all. I was glad to find one with not very many options. Part of me wishes it didn’t have the moonroof but I couldn’t get too picky.

I ended up with the moonroof as well but my 16 year old daughter is excited about having it. The 4runner I could find has the Venture black package and I would have never wanted all that stuff but the only other one was a SR5 with the 3rd row and a TRD Sport with 20" wheels and none of the 4X4 option that I will use living in Idaho and our yearly vacation to Southern Utah and Nevada. Hopefully you get your this week!

I spoke with the sales manager at the dealership yesterday and his answer was that they really have no idea where my 4Runner is except that it’s on rail somewhere. I realize Portland to Tennessee is a long trip but this is getting ridiculous. He now says his best guess is 1-2 weeks. I’ve never seen such inefficiency in a system.

OK, My 4Runner switched from dealer category "A" status to dealer Category: "F" just a few minutes ago. Please refresh my memory. Are we thinking in 2022 "F" Status is fright status .. has it has been put on a truck in Portland Oregon and is headed to Boise? Thanks for any response!

    Congrats!

I think some of the underlying meaning behind the statuses may have changed a bit, based on my experience so far. My 4Runner hit Portland on 5/14 and was in 'A' status until 5/21 late afternoon when it switched to 'F'. My dealer is a few hours from Portland so my 4Runner isn't being loaded onto a train, but rather directly onto a truck. The dealer explained that he won't have a good arrival estimate for me until it hits 'GT' status (ground transportation), a status I've not seen referenced in this thread before. My 4Runner is still in F status (confirmed by my dealer) and the app hasn't updated with any details so I'm guessing it is in line waiting to be loaded onto a truck.

Maybe the long distance deliveries hit F status upon being loaded onto the train but the local deliveries stay parked in the lot in F status until being loaded on a truck?

Not sure any of these data points really answers your questions, but sharing my experiences thus far in case it helps. Like you, I'm tired of waiting!

I was told they put my dealerships cars/trucks on trucks so it is a relief that my 4Runner isn't being put on a train. It's kind of cool that both of our 4Runners were on the same ship and more than likely build at the same time (day?) in Japan. I am just so happy that there has been some change this early in my wait.

Our ORP completed processing at the port on 5/9 and it hasn't moved to my knowledge(still in F status). Dealer said it could take 2-4 weeks to be delivered after processing. They also said that recently it's been taking about 4 weeks rather than 2.

I just talked (text) my salesman and he said it's now in freight status and it should be loaded on semi-truck 6-2-22 and take a week to get to Boise. I am so happy that it's not getting loaded on a train and I am sorry for the members I have been chatting with that do have to have the extra wait because of train shipping.

Wow! I guess we all need to be grateful we’re getting a 4Runner even though it’s taking longer than we like.

A few days ago I did see that the plant that makes the 4Runner in Japan was shutting down for 2 to 3 weeks. It's been crazy waiting for a new vehicle and now it's even crazier to feel lucky that I am hopefully getting my 4Runner relatively fast..LOL

Hoping the photo shows, my first time uploading one, but I saw these yesterday at I95S close to Trenton, NJ. I’m betting one of the members or lurkers here will get one of them. Also does anyone know what the blue one is?

thanks, from a distance it didn’t look like a rav4 to me. The way it’s angled had somewhat of a mean stance and rav4 didn’t came to mind.

It’s definitely deceiving in the picture and for me the tell tale sign the the slope of the rear gate. I have quite a few family members that own the new generation of them. Really nice vehicles in all honesty. I have an older generation that I commute with that I really enjoy.

definitely a nice vehicle, my wife had the ‘16 or ‘17 limited and I like the different driving modes on them. We only got it for 6 months though, had to PCS overseas.

Congrats! Thanks for sharing that. Mine's been at the port since 5/14, looks like there may be light at the end of the tunnel. Which port did your ORP pass through?

Thanks for the timing. Confirms what I've read elsewhere:
    - build takes about a week
    - two weeks on the ship to West Coast ports
    - a week in port for processing
So for those of you joining the thread late and wondering how long it will take for your 4Runner, add a week at the front end (between allocation and the start of the build) plus rail time which will vary widely depending on your location.

My timeline is build on 3/30…ship departed 4/5…arrived in Portland on 4/19…rail depart on 5/6. As of today 5/28 there is nothing new to report. Dealer says is it on rail somewhere between Portland and Memphis. Status is still “F”. Who knows when it will ever show up.

That should match what I am being told.
My ORP arrived 5-14 in Portland and on 5-26 it switched to "F" status and I called dealer and they said it will be loaded on 6-2 on a Semi truck and then take up to 1 week to make it to Boise. I just feel so lucky that I live close to Portland and the ORP is not being put on a train like my new friend in Cleveland, TN. Good luck to everyone and please keep us posted!
