Worth it or just all noise? Wanted peoples opinion to see if this would be a worthy upgrade as far as boost in performance. If so, how much more louder would it be combined with aFe intake and a 24” magnaflow muffler.

No one wants to hear a 4-cylinder or a 6 cylinder under 6 litres. I take that money and put it towards expensive tires...

Do you want to sound like a UPS truck?

Because that’s how you wind up sounding like a UPS truck.

Also check your local jurisdiction for the legality of the system.

I've heard people say it is worth it but I'd be more worried about the poop noise coming out of it.

The only benefit that I see is there will be 2 less cats to worry about and I’ve read that it also frees up low to mid range hp and gain a mpg or 2. My biggest worry is what it’ll sound like.

Removing cats usually increases top end power and you won't see a MPG gain. Nothing will increase MPGs.

How much power do you realistically need in Oahu?

From a stock 4runner off the lot point of view, the 4runner actually has decent performance. When you start adding higher center of gravity (lift), bigger and heavier tires, bunch of gear, all these mods robs power. Im trying to get some of that back. Also with cat theft being an issue, my only 2 choices is either having a full skid plate or replacing it with a aftermarket y pipe.

Anyone has a sound clip of 4 Runner with the Y pipe installed? Curious to hear it.
