I have been on the edge for a while to buy a pedal commander, but recently I decided to get one just because of all the good comments.
However, I recently fell upon the hikeit X9 and XS. Both throttle controllers offer more for less.
I know it is very popular in the jeep community, but I am actually curious your opinions on these throttle controllers. I am afraid that going for the hikeit will cheap it and have it fail or even cause problems to my 4runner.

I am hoping for longterm reviews of the hikeit or pedal commander.
Has anyone ran into issues because of throttle controllers?
Has anyone had his warranty canceled? Etc

Consider the Sprint Booster also. Supposedly there have been more reports of failures of Pedal Commanders.

My vote also goes to the Sprint Booster, due to its very small controller footprint (which you also can unplug if you don't want to see it, yet still use the last setting). I've been running it since December of 2020 with -0- issues.

That is good to hear that the sprint booster lasts that long. Still the sprint booster is 329 CAD and the hikeit throttle controllers are still way cheaper. Anybody have any experience with them?

I’ve been using the PC and had it also on my last 4runner. Can’t speak for any of the other systems but I love the PC. It works perfectly and gives no issues. Rather simple to install and the iPhone app is fantastic.

I have the Hikeit, I think it's terrific. I've been running it since early January, and have had no issues.

IMO there's really no good reason to spend 2x the money on the pedal commander or Sprint booster, this does the same thing. This actually has an auto mode, which I think the others don't have. This also has a small controller which is very easy to tuck away, unlike that monstrosity that comes with the PC.

I'm not going to go to in-depth on this, do a search, whenever this comes up I write a fairly long reply about it.

If you worried about vehicle warranty on something like this, it'll take your literally 5 minutes to unplug it and remove it when you bring your car in for service.

I've had 3 HikeIts on 3 vehicles and I got them each on sale for $100 each time. Thats the most I would ever pay.

Yeah, I got mine on Black Friday, I think it was 119 with free shipping. It's on sale now for 169, which I still don't think is bad compared to the others.

Another vote for the Hike it. Ive been running it for about a year I think. No issues and can’t beat the price. I set it on auto and tucked it away. Wouldn’t even know it was there. I like the anti theft feature, use it often.

Same, the auto is a great feature. I leave my remote on top of the steering column, it just slides underneath the boot and you can't even see it.

I would bet sometime around Father’s Day, Hike it will run a 30% off deal. Seems like they do it a few times a year.

I tried Eco mode once, it felt like the truck was in limp mode. Switched that off right away.

I'm running eco 2 right now too. I've consistently gotten a little over 20mpg since setting it.

Believe it or not, in certain situations it feels better than stock. The slower response makes for less downshifting, so it "feels" like it has more TQ since it's forced to "muscle up" inclines.

Other times it's frustrating AF, but I drive mostly highway, so oh well.

I would say the "race" modes are more ridiculous than eco.

I switched it off eco after like a minute, didn’t try it out on the highway. Ended up setting it to auto and left it there. Maybe I’ll play around with it some more.

So you guys that have the Hike It do you have the X9 or XS? Sounds like the X9 is really all you need.

It'll still do 80mph just fine. I'm just not winning any stoplight drags, which these turds can't do anyway. I had to keep shifting into S4 on may way to work this morning, I had a headwind and the thing couldn't maintain 70mph in D.

Tried Eco. It’s downright dangerous turning into traffic unless it’s wide open. Not worth the few extra mpg.

I have the X9, they didn’t offer the XS when I bought mine. The X9 might be the happy middle ground between the two.

I have had the PC on My 07 sport 4x4 V8 Runner For Well over 3 years now and I have the tiny controller Hidden I just use the app my most favorite feature on the PC I like that the PC is also vehicle and engine Specific were Hike-It Xs will ask for Make And Model but when you select engine it just says all engines never used a Hike it no app for the hike it and the Hike it xs is quite a bit bigger and bulkier then the PC wouldn't mind testing a Hike-It XS vs My Peddle commander for YouTube content But.. Everyone will have there likes and dislikes..
