    OCD is in full overdrive! Put the factory side steps back on per the wife's request. But this gap makes me nuts! Could I use washers to raise it a bit?

    While I don't have an answer for your question, I do feel like that gap is intentional. Those steps and the way they are mounted are far from rigid, any closer and I feel like they would be vibrating and rubbing on the body.

    Who knows though I could be totally wrong. Drop em' on a big rock with the weight of the vehicle, there will surely be less of a gap then :D

    I have the same steps on my 18 ORP. That gap is by design. Nobody looks at it.

    If it really bugs you that much, mask off a straight line on both the running board and the body. Fill that area with black RTV and smooth with a wet finger. This way you allow the parts to still move independently of each other, but still close the gap.
