I’ve been researching roof racks as well and that question occurred to me as well. Evidently the answer is basically a Swiffer and microfiber cloths.

So, double check me on this: the Toyota engineers totally nailed it on the roof rails but dropped the ball with the cross bars?

I plan to put a few hooks into the rafters in my carport and raise it up for regular cleanings.

Absolutely! Should be crazy simple to just run two ropes through it and cinch it up just a bit, unbolt.. roll back a few feet, wash and wax then drive back under and lower in place. Much simpler than lifting up my Scout II hard top!

@Brandonium unless you have a light bar installed,,, then pulling back a few feet may cost you a grand or so in repiar cost :(

I'm using white rhino liner on my roof so cleanings aren't needed as frequently, but when I do I use a small brush w/an extender handle similar to a swiffer.
