10B04720-6704-4894-BEDB-7E55B3D47F2C.jpg Hey guys, I have a 2021 TRD PRO and recently got the Westcott Designs TRD Pro lift. I still have stock tires and wheels on, but I plan on upgrading to 285/70/17s in the future. I also plan on getting new wheels. I’m currently looking at Relation Race Wheels RRW7s which are offered in 0, -12, -25. However, I’m wondering if anyone can give me an idea of the tires rubbing with -12 offset or -25 and what I would have to do to fit them.

0 offset will be the easiest to clear. The more negative offset you have, the more you're likely to rub the mudflaps, inner fender liner, and body mounts.

A good alignment with as much caster as possible will help. Trimming will do the rest.

Thanks for replying! Westcott claims that their lift should fit 285s with 0 offset no problem. But I kind of want the aggressive look you get with negative offset or spacers.

Yeah, the negative offset gives it a nice look, as long as it's within reason.

A negative 12 might work with just some plastic trimming.

I was thinking 0 offset for now then add spacers later. Idk though… any idea whats better? Going with offset wheels or spacers?

Offset wheels are nice because it's simple. Quality spacers are OK, but should be removed and re-torqued at every tire rotation. As long as you don't mind a little extra work, they're fine.

If it were me, I would just get the wheels with the offset I want and then do whatever it takes to clear them.

Thanks for your input! Ill that into consideration when purchasing. I will probably go with some negative offset wheels

When I did my Westcott lift, I only had to remove front mud flaps and push front fender up a little more. This was with SCS Ray 10s 17x8.5 with -10mm offset. No bmc

Nice! With those adjustments do you think there was enough space for -25s without bmc?

I'm not sure as I've heard it can vary 4runner to 4runner. The shop said I had plenty of space still and they were just taking precautions for full flex. I took the setup to an off road class and never rubbed.

I liked the extra poke of -10mm and think your -12mm would be visually the same (slightly poking out). I didn't want too much poke since it would throw more rocks on my doors.

Check out my Instagram under same name if you need pics. The 285/70s with Westcott lift are the photos with Nitto Ridge Grappler, about a year or so back.

Good luck and enjoy your modding!

Thanks! Checked your IG and that build is real nice! the -10 offset was nice and subtle.

^ I'm still debating my next tire size, id love to get 285 75 17, 295 70 17, or even 31570 17, they are just all so heavy and will kill the performance and mpg.

I'm not OP, but I just followed you.

How hard was it to regear?
    Did you do it yourself?
Total cost? (If you don't want to post it, you can message me.)
What difference(s) did you notice after?

    Thanks. Your truck looks good!

sorry not trying to steal your thunder OP, I ordered these.
suspension staying stock, I'm aiming for 0 rub whatsoever at any circumstance, should I just play it safe and go with stock 265/70/17
or I can go up to 275/70/17 with -10mm offset?

Leave it as is. It looks awesome!

It’s doubtful that gas prices will ever come down so I’m seriously considering going back to 265’s when the 285’s wear out and having the lift removed. That may take awhile since I only drive about 4k a year.

Im currently looking at Cooper STT Pros in 285/70/17s. But yeah it seems like a lot of the M/T tires are load range E.

One of my coworkers have a 2022 ORP with a leveling kit installed and was able to fit 275/70/17s KO2s with the trd pro wheels on it with no problem. But thats 0 offset, you might have rubbing with the -10 offset tho

Thanks man! Ill probably sit on the stock Nittos until they need to be replaced, but seeing how much space there is under the fender makes me wanna go big already! And yes gas prices are getting insane! $4.57 at my local Sams club

Those are some heavy and expensive tires, look at the 285 70 17 cooper evo mt, I hear great reviews and weigh less then 55lbs.
