2021 venture, 17k miles. Operating totally normally. No lights or dash alerts. I was in the menu screen adding some maintenance dates and I toggled into the vehicle alert screen and found 3 same day alerts from October 2021 apparently. I don't recall anything specific from that time frame and have used the MTS system during the winter without issue. Pre-collision seems fine (worked the other day normally). Vehicle was serviced in December at the dealer and no mention was made of any issues nor was I aware of these alerts or I would have mentioned them. I don't want to just clear the history. Thoughts on dealer eval? Other suggestions or advice appreciated.

I don't have a 4R with that safety shit but my Civic has it. I see an alert every so often which clears itself fast but the alert remains in the hx like yours are. Usually those alerts are indicative of environmental conditions that adversely affect the pre collision system, like frost, or dew, or a clouded up sensor. I wouldn't worry about it, if seems somewhat normal IMO.

The hill assist and trac stuff is probably a related temporary glitch. It's all computer shit. If it's working now I wouldn't give it a second thought.

I would clear them and then check again in a few days and see if they come back.

It’s just a list “for your reference” of what has happened. I had stuff from when the vehicle was still in japan at the factory, probably what comes up when stuff is initialized. When I did my front bumper and started it up before finishing, it logged a safety sensor malfunction. Just hit “delete history” if it bothers you.

If there was real problem, it would show up as a check engine code.

I second this. It's come up before and general consensus is all new 4Runners have some messages like that when they are delivered to the dealer. When did you buy your 4Runner? Or more importantly was it build in the fall of '21?

My 21 also had a history logged. I agree, all of these came up while at the factory. Most probably during systems function tests.
Mine were logged prior to the vehicle arriving at the dealership.

Bet its some hold over alert. Built in fall of 2020, purchased Jan 2021. Alert could have been there since the build for all I know. No codes or malfs ever and I've used the MTS so I'm guessing you all are correct and its some left over factory alert. Just going to clear it out. Thanks for the help/suggestions.

Mine has a series of alerts related to system malfunctions; all dated the week it was at the factory being built.

Chances are very good it was Oct. 2020 that the alerts showed up.

Got my 2022 in Sept 2021 it showed no indication of any alerts. I have a scanner that can access my 4Runner and upon trying it out on the 4Runner an auto fault scan of all the modules showed at least 8 history faults from Body Communication to Smart Key and Navigation in various modules. Just cleared all the codes and as the "Car Care Nut" would say "Life is good" no faults returned as of yet and I'm not worried about it.
