Been a Tacoma owner for a long time and finally pulled the trigger on a white 22 TRD ORP with KDSS yesterday.

Wanted to share my purchasing experience since things are so crazy right now. Probably the worst time to buy new vehicles and we knew that. Especially in So Cal with these Covid related up charges. However I don’t have any reason to believe it’s going to get better anytime soon.

Purchased from Kearny Mesa who charged me 5k over but they are one of the few who actually put some of that money back into the vehicle where most other dealers I talked to wouldn’t. They were also the most professional ones I spoke to. They put Security system and window tint. Guessing it cost no more than $1000 if that.

Did call some dealers in AZ who mostly aren’t charging over MSRP but some weren’t willing to sell to out of state residents. And some couldn’t get what we wanted.

This was about a two month call around and talk to sales people process. Ultimately got the opportunity to put a down payment on the exact one we wanted and it arrived the next day. We got what we wanted for our trade in as well. More than KBB said it was worth. Thats the only good thing.

Glad to finally be joining rhe 4R community. Looks good sitting next to my Tacoma too. Looking forward to years of adventures in it. Next thing I need is a roof rack system. Post what you recommend. Went with rhino rack on my Tacoma shell.

Welcome to the forum. I went with a Southern Style Offroad full length roof rack that I am very happy with. Installation was easy, getting the old rack bolts off first was the only problem. Enjoy the forum!

Welcome and greetings from Minnesota. I just sold my 2000 now the search begins for a 2022. At least my dealer up here sticks with MSRP.

Thanks you and good luck. I think the lower trims are still MSRP. It’s really the TRD OR and Pros that they are marking up out here if I’m not mistaken.
