I am thinking about switching out my cloth seats to leather. I did this on a 2012 Tacoma at a local shop and was happy with the result. This time I would have it don’t through the dealership as the local shop is booked solid until well after summer. I would be grateful for your thoughts, opinions, and experiences about this "upgrade" via a dealership. The outfit the dealership uses here in Northern Ca is Coach Automotive and deals with Katzkin. I had Road Wire in the Tacoma. Thanks! Have a great weekend.

No first hand experience, but I have heard/read Katzkins is the best.

I did some clazzio covers. They where not expensive at all, did them in my car port in under an hour for em all, and i really dig the way they turned out. Headed element is also available

Covers could be an option. Do the seats need to be removed? Thanks

Katzkin is amazing. Have had it on my wife’s 2 RAV-4s and CRV, and my F-150. All custom shop, not dealer but it probably doesn’t matter. 75-100K miles still looks new. Very comfortable. I’ll see if I can find some pics.

Nerp,.. left them in the sun to get warm, while i vacuumed the rig out, and slapped em on. Took me a lil over a hour.

    Lots of goodies
I have had the Katskinz in a couple vehicles, including my current 4Runner. They’re very nice and very rugged.

While the chances are nil, I think MGM with the Redwood color leather from the Limited would look rad. Katskinz does make a quality product.

Thanks for the thoughts, suggestion and advise everybody. I think another conversation with the dealer is next. I’m lucky to have a pretty straight forward and honest dealer with a good service dept. seems to be the exception these days.

I readily recommend Katzkin. I've ordered Katzkin mahogany leather, centre perforated, with contrasting Bristol thread stitching and both front seats heated. It should look great with the Army Green Trail. ETA and installation likely by mid-May.

I had Katzkin leather installed in my 2015 Tundra SR5 CrewMax. Cognac, centre perforated, no contrasting thread, heated seats and it's been holding up very well, even with my shep-sky dog regularly riding in the back seat. Much much easier to clean and vacuum out the dog hair as well.

The only sign of wear has been on the seat bottom bolster from getting in and out of the truck. The Tundra stands 2 inches taller than stock due to tires and Bilstein shocks...so sliding out/off the seat is routine. It should not be the case with the Trail. Once installed, I'll try to update with the addition of photos.
