Last year several dealers I called when not sell or install the pro grill up here. I found it very odd. They would sell me the wheels and predator bars.

What I think I really wanted was the Gun metal color wheels with pro grill.

Then I decided to try to not complicate my life and for a silver ORP with roof rails and the normal stock wheels and chrome accent running boards.

I talked with Toyota Jeff at his dealer and almost got an XP. Those are all modified in Jacksonville Fl. So that is where your grill and wheels etal were installed. They can make SR5 or an ORP and give it the XP package.

If I knew someone I trusted to do the work I would get it done. I am in Michigan and the 4R is not super popular here. I am not sure if it is because it’s Detroit big 3 related or if 4R is just not popular. So finding someone to trust to do work is tough.

I put down a $500 deposit at a Minneapolis metro dealer for a white SR5 in early February. I was told it would take 3-6 months. I also told them when they asked that I won't have a trade in, which probably put me on the back burner. So far, unsuprisingly, not a word from the dealer. The way this is going I might end up with a '23 model, sometime in '23.

Order 2022 Limited February 15 in Cincinnati. Picking it up Sunday April 10. It arrived Friday April 1st but out of town so can’t get till 10th. Paid MSRP. Had one dealership try make me pay $2000 over so went to another. Not going under MSRP around here

Look outside of the Metro. I got mine in St Cloud. But call everyone out in the boonies and you'll likely have better luck.

Congrats. Limiteds seem to be more available at MSRP and resale will still be absurd. Used OR/ORP/Ventures are going for really strong money right now.

Yes, that might be a way to speed things up. I actually called a place in Winona last week because it seemed they had one available. It was just a ploy to get people contacting them. I was told they prioritize locals with trade-ins. So, two strikes against me. Now that winter is somewhat over, my wife can actually drive her rear wheel drive convertible and I'll keep driving my Q5, and I'm not in a hurry.

Durango Toyota has a Metallic Gray ORP and a Army Green OR if anyone is interested. They arrive in a month. MSRP. Only a $95 markup for nitrogen tires. Solid people to work with.

Klamath Falls Toyota in Oregon has a Nautical Blue ORP w. KDSS in their show room right now for MSRP.

Yes, I have literally contacted every dealer on the west coast.

Fitzway Toyota in Chambersbug, PA. Found the 4runner on Cars.com they had it on the lot. No markup, no stupid addons, just doc fees $400-ish + taxes.

Do they fill themselves with that nitrogen to become solid people? 95 bucks to put air in my tireso_O

ok, so I can’t call it just putting air in your tires, but I can say 95 bucks is way over priced, and that’s something the dealership should do for free on a new vehicle. Convince you it’s worth you money to keep returning to get your tires filled.

Hansel Toyota Petaluma CA. Had these two on the lot. Bought the white one. Good trade on my 2016 F150. Paid $600.00 over invoice, $1400.00 below MSRP. Timing I guess. As far as price, it’s a local dealer that I have bought two vehicles from in the past. Not positive that had effect on price. Just a guess. 1BF3EA4D-FDC9-4470-B575-D2165AD6E2F0.jpg6606111B-031B-4373-8F7B-D4B767E2145B.jpg

Update - 4/8 Got a call from dealer and truck will be in 4/9. Scheduled for pickup 4/10!
I also did the Toyota app trick. Yes, the odometer reading is showing 5 miles about the same time as dealer's message.

Been on the search for a LR ORP with no luck the last 3 months. Was put on 2 waitlists at MSRP dealers in Cali. Told it will be about a 6-8 month wait with about 50-60 people on the list with 1/3 of the reservations being in the LR color. We all know the LR color is produced in limited runs from Toyota so that meant an even longer wait. Reached out to a friend that I just recently found out was employed at Toyota and was blessed to have him find me a car due to arrive in 2.5 weeks. So, if all goes well will have a 22' LR ORP to my name in 3 weeks paying MSRP.

    Perfect as is.
Congrats, this confirms my suspicion that the allocation wait list doesn't mean much if you have a connection or float someone a few bucks. That's why no one will be getting a Tundra pro anytime soon :).

This just in... ordered 11/1 and picked it up today 4/11. The turn time was just what the dealership predicted. Blake at Cobb County Toyota was great to work with! ORP with more port-installed options than I wanted but what the hey, right? Let’s hit the trails!

I don't think so. I think the connection can just look at all the allocations before they hit the website, and the average buyer is getting on a list at the large local dealer without looking around enough.

6 month wait for a white ORP w/kdss & moonroof at Longo in California. Was offered a grey ORP about 2 months earlier but decided to wait it out for the White. Paid msrp and picked it up 2 days ago.

I was on the bottom of that list, they told me about 6 months if I have no real preference on color. Guess they are being honest about that. I think LONGO is definitely one of the very few dealerships left in SoCal that are honest and have good business practices. Congrats!

After seeking offers from 20 dealerships within 3 hours of my residence, I'd whittled it down to a dealer I'd purchased through previously.
Watching the gouging SOME dealers had been making, I'd required MSRP on a 2022 Trail/Army Green/TRD exhaust/BFG-K02's and no direct contact until they answered my request fully. ONLY 3 dealers actually met that requirement.
I made a deposit January 24th, was notified March 25th that it arrived, and brought it home March 30th.
The dealer did a video with my 4Runner as the star.
In response to "no photos, it didn't happen", I've added the video...

I paid $1500 over sticker as an "out of area" surcharge. It was a 3 month wait after I dropped a $500 refundable deposit on a trd pro allocation. Color choice was already made so I could not get lime rush. White is not a bad consolation prize although it seems to be everywhere. The only thing I could add were the port options which was the predator steps.

HOLY CROW...Here's the MSRP in Canada for the respective 4Runner packages taken directly from Toyota.ca website in Canadian Dollars (current exchange rate USD $1.00= CDN $1.26).
    Trail $47,550 = USD$37,740 With Standard Package
    $50,570* = USD$40,135 With TRD Sport
    $53,780* = USD$42,680 With TRD Off Road
    $54,970* = USD$43,630 With Limited 7 Passenger
    $57,930* = USD$45,980 With TRD Pro
    $65,550* = USD$52,025 Limited with TRD Pro

Granted, taxes, tariffs, delivery and the applied exchange rate comparison will fudge those numbers somewhat. So it's not a straight comparison, but the up charges are, as 4R0331 stated, is insane. As I wrote previously, I vetted 20 dealerships from my list and ordered MSRP the rig that I wanted with what turned out to be a 2 month wait from a dealer I'd purchased through previously.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
Today marks the 3 month wait for me. I want a loaded LR ORP with everything BUT a moonroof.
The only thing that prevented me from going for a Pro was the mandatory moonroof.
