The stock Dueler HTs have to go. Been reaching reviews but I'm a bit paralyzed with options. I know I don't want K02s - had them on my Tacoma, and while they looked awesome and the snow performance was good, it was terrifying driving in the rain.

Want something that I can run all-year, not a fan of rotating 2 sets of tires every 6 months.

    Some tires I have looked into;

    Falken Wildpeak AT3W
    Toyo Open Country A/T III
    Michelin LTX A/T 2
    Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus
    Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO 3

Needs to be a decent off-road tire as well (stock ORP setup w/ KDSS) but does not have to be anything too crazy/nobby, realistically not going to be rock crawling but want a tire that complements the vehicles overall off-road prowess. Any other suggestions or experiences with the above tires?

I’ve used Michelin LTX AT2 tires for years. Great tire with no downsides.

Cooper AT3 is a good 'wet weather' tire, they perform great in the snow as well.

Have the Toyo A/T 3 in the light load range. About 10,000 miles on them. Been great so far.

Toyo at3 $231 near perfect on and off road. Walmart Goodyear ats $136 or Walmart cooper discover AT $140 if you need least expensive. Take a look at the Walmart tires in person there lugs are much more aggressive than appear in pics.

About the KO2. I've run it in every condition known to man. West Texas fien dust/dirt, small rock, medium rock, large rock, wet, really wet, 12" standing water, snow, deep snow, ice, slush, forest service roads, bedrock, all over southern Colorado, Beartooth Pass, Cascades, sands of Arizona and New Mexico, freeways, downtown.

The key to KO2's is dropping a few PSI when its cold or wet. Adding a few PSI when its really warm.

Allowing the tire to work across all mediums with the same PSI helps all tires function poorly in one or more categories. Environment changes so to should the PSI (with all A/T, R/T and M/T's) to allow for optimum performance.

Running General Grabber AT/X(C-Load range), been really happy with them on and off road. Excellent grip on pavement in any condition, was amazed at how well they handled in the ice storms we had. They are studable if you're in an area that you can or want to run studs.

General grabber atx c load is what I'm going with. Watched and read a ton of reviews. The toyos seem solid as well

Know you'll be happy with the Grabbers, have had them for a year and a half and they have not disappointed. As a reference I've found these pressures work well for myself...highway/summer and best MPG I run them 45-50psi, in winter 40-44, off-road 30-35 if I air down.

Wife has Toyo's on her TRD Rav4 and loves them. Says they've been great in snow, ice, dirt, gravel, hasn't been in sloppy mud to give any feedback, assume they'd perform at par or above for an AT tire.

You can always tell the people that have never driven a KM/2/3 mud tire in the rain. They think the K02 is bad. :p

DuraTrac. Amazing in snow, rain and thin, slippery mud. Noisy and heavy-ish, and certainly not sexy like all the newer A/T tires, but they work.

I just went Pirelli Scorpion Plus AT in standard 265/70/17. Unfortunately not enough experience to opine on them, but they have 3Peak rating, look good, get great reviews in all categories on TireRack, perform very well in TireRack's own tests, and are signif less expensive than a lot of the other choices.

If I was paralyzed by my choice and wanted to go the safest route possible for an AT, I might be tempted by the Michelin LTX AT. Just because it's a Michelin. But note that the user ratings are quite significantly lower than for the Scorpions, it's not 3Peak rated, and it's pricey. Plus it doesn't look as aggressive.

Are you sure you need AT? Cause if not -- and espec if you don't require 3Peak rating -- then the absolute safest choice for an all around tire is the Michelin Defender LTX M/S. That tire has epically great reviews and has for years. Can't get safer than that, so long as you don't need aggressive off road tread. It also has great reviews in the snow, and while not 3Peak rated it might be about as good overall.

Personally, and maybe not completely rationally, I'd be afraid of the wet weather performance in the other tires mentioned by @Taco4R. To me the choice would be one of the three mentioned above.

I might also add the Michelin Agilis Cross Climate E Load, except I tried them and couldn't banish the vibration and steering wheel shimmy at highway speeds. Specs say they weigh 50 lbs in stock 17" size, so that might be an issue.

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
Falken Wildpeak AT3W's for what you want to do.
Fantastic in the rain. Decent off road. OK in snow / ice.

I've since switched to Mud Terrain tires for the off roading I do.

I'd be lying if the appearance of the tire doesn't impact the choice - the more aggressive tires tires like the Falkens look awesome.

I am set on an AT, just feels a bit silly to have an ORP on anything less than at least a mild AT. Reading about a lot of balancing issues with the Wildpeaks and KO2s, way to much for me to think these are isolated batches/runs.

Right now leaning towards the Toyos but wish there was more out there about how they ride on 4Runners.

I got a set of Toyo AT3s in stock size as soon as my ORP showed up in Feb. The dirt roads to my place still had snow and ice on them for awhile and they did just fine. They kinda surprised me how well they did. I thought the 4R would slide around some but they did OK.

    I'm very happy with AT3's.

But, if you're driving at least 10K miles per year, you're rotating you tires every 6 months anyway.;)

Discount tire direct is having a flash sale tomorrow and Tuesday. 110 off a set of 4 tires. The falkens, pirelli and toyos are part of the sale. The cooper AT3 4s is as well. That equals to about 27 off each tire.

I like the coopers myself but have been eyeballing the Pirellis AT . Sams club has 80 instant saving on the pirelis so I’m gonna see if discount will price match plus the 110 off.

I have a set of Falkens in the basement waiting to go on my 4R.

I have run the above Yokohama Geolanders on my Taco in an LT rating for years and they have never failed me. They work well in the rain, the occasional snow we get as well as offroad. I have 110K+ on the current set and can easily get another 10-15K out of them before I have to replace them. Plus they are very reasonably priced. Probably a good choice for what you want.

I had a very good experience with the Geolander ATG015 ad well! They're less aggressive looking, but great all all-around tires. They were probably the best AT I've used in snow.

I run the yokos geolander on my wife’s sequoia. They have proven to be a good all around tire. Street comfort in an All terrain package.

I want to try Toyo AT3 as I've seen few good comments on them. They have 3peak mountain symbol right?

It would take some time though since my tires are new.

So far I have experience with KO2, Falken AT3W, Duratrac. So far Duratracs were the best on snow and ice. KO2 were the best all-rounder.

I ordered Nokian ATs(forgot the exact name) but it's sidewall look weak, just like all seasons. That won't work for me as I take mine on trails.

I put 40k on my last set of KO2 in the pnw wet and didn’t think it was bad in the rain at all. However have been really happy with the Cooper AT3 LT this go around. Great in the rain and smooth/quiet so far. Reviews were great and load range c the picking is slim.

Wow, looks like they have lot of siping that would help in snow and ice. Wonder why not many talk about them.
    Screenshot_20220410-225140_Chrome.jpg

    Edit -
Yes Load C is a nice balance. I have tried KO2 Load E and no more LoadE for me. Especially my wife would kill me if I get Load E again. Not sure that's because KO2 Load E has 3ply side wall.
