Newbie from the Bluegrass

Hello, and glad to join the mix. Just acquired a new 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium today. I put 104 miles on it today bringing it home, and loved every minute of it. The difference between the T4R and the Tacoma I traded in is night and day. The T4R has a much better ride, and better quality. Glad to join the group, and hopefully, I can learn a few things while I am here.

Let me ask a couple of question fellows. I have just learned about Toyota’s KDSS system. Never heard of it until after I had purchased my 4Runner. My 4Runner did not come with it. Should I be disappointed that it does not have it? Am I missing out on a feature that I should have waited on finding a vehicle that had it on it? Looking at CarGurus, I cannot even find one close to my area for sale. Thanks in advance.

 

I wanted KDSS, but don’t seem to come up this way. I think it’s great until something goes wrong, then it’s expensive, so I’m not sad I didn’t get it, I’ll go after market and probably do better.

 

Same thing here. Is the KDSS option a regional thing, where some regions get more than others? There are only a handful within 500 miles of me.

 

But standard in Canada on off road premiums I believe. I have no clue why it’s so hard in some places, but others the fall off the boat..

 

Exactly. I couldn’t find a single one available at any dealership in Kentucky, or in Tennessee for that matter, from what I remember.
