I have owned a 20180Limited 4Runner now since 2017. Love the vehicle form the moon and back! I just started to try and do some customization but found out it's a little difficult with this model. So since they want to give me almost what I paid for it almost 5 years ago, I have a new 2022 TRD Premium Army Green on the boat from Japan now. Since it has taken forever and I am tired of waiting I am settling for this one without the KDSS. I guess I can ask this question elsewhere but am I going to be able to improve the ride and handling with suspension modifications that will out weigh what the KDSS brings to the table? Or should I pass on it and keep my name on the list for the next one?

Welcome and greetings from Minnesota. I was looking at a 2022 4RUNNER to replace my 2000 that I have for sale now. They seem really nice, but ultimately it’s your choice.

    welcome from Spokane

Have you driven a 4runner with and without KDSS, I love mine but for some people they are not so into it.

I have not driven one with KDSS. I was just curious if it is a huge difference. I mean I plan on doing a suspension lift when I get my 2022, so I am assuming I can improve the ride as I go.

if you're going to change everything anyway I wouldn't worry too much about it. Good luck, cant wait to see it when you get it

I decided to “downgrade” from Pro to Off-road as well and I believe you can improve the ride with suspension modifications. Without the KDSS it still rides really nice though so don’t worry about that. Still rides way nice than the Tacoma I had even though I loved it!
