Any ideas when we will see tuning options for 2020+? I've emailed both Magnuson and Procharger about their kits, obviously neither have tuning options for 2020+ yet and both say they are waiting for such to offer a kit for 2020+ 4Runners. So, anyone out there have an in with any tuning companies that are possibly working on cracking the ECU's for the newest models?

I'm betting that if Maggie and Procharger don't have it yet, no indie tuners have it yet.

I am quite new to the 4Runner scene. Is there a specific reason why we’re two years in to these specific ecu’s and there’s no tuning? What’s the hold up? Pardon my ignorance here.

The 1GR just isn't much of a performance engine so no one invests time into it. It has always been this way for it ever since new. URD makes some parts for it and I know HPTuners has made some options available but also Toyota just loves changing pinouts. 2020 saw the addition of safety sense so I'm sure pins changed around to accommodate.

Your 2020 is the same as a OG 2010 5th gen (in this regaurd) ,... and no one does any ecu playing. Bummer eh....

What kind of tuning is available for the 4Runner? Or are you talking about tunes for a boosted vehicle?

Yes sorry, I meant for the supercharger kits. I know this 4.0 isn’t geared towards performance, I’m just trying to wrap my head around how there are kits for 2010-2019, and that there are no 2020+ kits out from
the two main suppliers of supercharger kits, and they both said it’s due to the lack of tuning for this ecu.

That’s why I am confused. Both companies advertise 2010-2019 4Runner supercharger kits with tuning. So if it’s the same as the OG 2010, why are they advising me that the kit will not work on 2020+, and tuning needs to be available to safely run the kit? That would leave me to believe there are tuning options for 2010-2019 4Runners, and none available for 2020+. Appreciate the replies so far folks! :)
