I figured he got banned for being dumb enough to renege on a deposit for a Pro offered to be sold at MSRP.. I guess I was wrong.

My guess is the Jeep salesman is going to get a sale considering he got banned from here. That salesman can thank the moderators.

Correct. He continued to post threads that were borderline political in nature (best quotes, Tesla thread) illegal activity (marijuana is not federally legal). We are not going to babysit him, daily.

You know you can't ban them, right? you can ban the user, the IP, but in the end you can't ban an individual from accessing the site. Maybe not to post, but he can still read them topics....
So i guess the ban is more like a mute button.

In the case of TLB, it may be just as effective. He seems young and not very savvy. And I must say, he started more threads than anyone I know. Not that starting threads is a bad thing, but he was all over the place.

I'm going to miss the toes. Where's my 4Runner? Oh yeah, in the driveway.

Well I almost did something really stupid. I almost traded my 4R for a 2 door Rubicon then saw it was $54K so I looked at a 2 door Willys. Those are $44K which is crazy and with what mods I would want/need it would be over $50K. Jeeps have become so stupidly expensive. I've had 5 Jeeps and had problems with all of them and can only imagine what the turbo would be like. I get bored and like to modify my vehicles which the Jeeps are great for. When I sit back and analyze the 4R, its really the best vehicle for my needs at the moment even if its kinda boring.

Honestly, unless it was a trail only toy or something, I was going to tow behind a motorhome, I couldn't imagine buying a two-door Wrangler. I know they're the original, and they look cool, but I rented one for 24 hours and I was already sick of having a two-door.

I rented a JK Rubi in Moab a few years ago, and while that thing made all the trails I tried seem stupidly easy, I really didn't enjoy driving it on the road.

But yeah, they're so expensive. By the time you step up to a 4 door, even if you get a Sport, add some options like power windows and keyless entry you're easily in the mid 40s.

They make the base price seem somewhat reasonable, but then you realize that you need to pay another $1,500 bucks for an automatic, 1500 bucks for a hardtop, a $2,500 package to get basic things like air conditioning and power windows, etc. It's just crazy.

I haven't priced them out in a while, but in late 2018 I priced out a JLUR with a few basic options for 48k. I can't imagine it's possible to get a four-door Rubicon for anywhere near that these days.

I really can't wait to see what the 6th gen 4Runner looks like. I'll say that I'm not a buyer, I don't think in any lifetime I can justify spending 50k plus on a new vehicle. Maybe when they're 5 plus years old I can consider one in the used market, haha. I'm kind of expecting pricing will go up across the board, and will be closer to what Jeeps and Broncos are going for.

Whatever they do though, hopefully it's cool enough and has features comparable to the Jeep & Bronco so that we don't need to consider Jeeps all the time anymore. It sucks having to give up capability and ease of modifying just to have reliability.

I don't have any special affinity for Toyota, but I don't really have anything against them either. I'll just say that after 13 model years of the same generation, they really better WOW us with the next one.

I'm pretty sure I would have regretted the 2 door decision. I had one when my dog was a puppy, but he has since grown to love his side window and now the rear window being open. I only considered it because I was bored. I would have had to spend a minimum of $7K just to get it to where I wanted it to be. I leased this 4R mainly to see what the 6th Gen would be or to be in position to move to a Bronco in 3 years. If none of those options are appealing I will just buy it at end of the lease since I will more than likely have exceeded the miles. My only real regret with the 4R is not being patient enough to wait for a white one. This Nautical Blue is a beating to keep scratches to a minimum. The other thing to consider nowadays especially with Jeeps is most dealers add about $3K worth of useless crap to increase their profits. So now a 2 door Willys is $47-48K. Thats almost $20K more than I paid for a 2 door Willys in 2016. I can promise they aren't $20K better.

The two door makes sense if you don’t mind ripping out the rear seat. Lots of space back there then.

and that’s what it would do, but no window for this dog is a deal breaker.

It was available for the JK.

I really want to get a Wrangler, but my head touches the plastic cover for the roll bar, so there’s a pretty good chance I will fracture my skull or break my neck if I get into an accident, so my wife refuses to let me buy one.

It was one thing when stuff broke on the Jeep when they were $25K. They are not worth $40K+

I think the wrangler is a great sub $30,000 vehicle.

I don’t know how they manage to sell so many of them for $65-$70,000.

I know that’s why I couldn’t justify the price of a 2 door. For me the 4R is better in every way.

New 4Runner due in 2 weeks. $500 down and MSRP only.

Will not sell my Trouble free 2012 wrangler 2 door. Love it. So keeping both.

Sold a Buick and selling my Triumph Bonneville T100 this spring to make it all happen.

    Can’t we love both vehicles?

    I don’t hate jeeps.

My wife’s father was a Chrysler engineer/statistician and we’ve had jeeps in the past.

I just can’t safely drive a wrangler because of the position of the rollbar.

My salesman tried to tell me a TRD Pro could go anywhere a Rubicon can. Fat chance! Maybe not as reliable or as big, but far more capable off-road.

We've had 40 mph winds for the past two days. I don't miss any of my Jeep one bit in this kind of weather. I hardly notice it in my 4R.
