I have Android Auto setup wirelessly. It's somewhere in the multitude of settings.

See my post above. It takes about 10 seconds to connect, which seems like a lifetime.

I know when trying to install my TPMS that I had to use the 2 port USB cable and not the one that connects to the factory usb.

PSA: in case you didn’t know this, if you have to do a hard reset, press the volume button and hold it down till the menu led’s blink. Takes about 10 seconds. This will restart the unit. Easier than looking for a paper clip or pencil to poke into the reset button on the screen.

I’ve been going back-and-forth for a couple of months now on whether to buy one of these units. It definitely seems like the more solid choice over the T10. And I’m really just getting it for the stock look and CarPlay. But which model have most of you gone with? On Amazon they have one listed as a PX6, Max 10, and scout. Which seems to be the most solid with the fewest problems? The max 10 is listed at 629, and the one that just says PX6+ CarPlay is listed at 668. What dors the extra 40 get you if anything? I’ve read almost the entire thread, and I seen some explanations, just not sure if there is one clear choice for reliability or if there’s no difference at all. Thanks for any help

Sorry can’t help you there. Really don’t know the difference between them, but I have the Max 10 and it’s worked perfectly fine for almost 2 years. I know the Max 10 came loaded with Android 10 at the time.

Is anyone with this unit having trouble with Facetime video not working? Everything checks out, audio, backup camera, Zlink.... etc.... But when I try to Facetime someone it has me blocked. The audio works but the facetime on my end doesnt show my picture. Anyone else have this issue?

Yeah nvm I dont have a camera hooked up. But with the previous stock unit, when i would Facetime a call I would be able to see the person, but with the Dasaita its only Facetime audio because I forgot the headunit doesnt have a camera. Or am I missing something?

So mine says that it connects wirelessly or wired for Apple CarPlay, I think I have everything set up correctly because everything is working, but I cannot get the stock USB port to work to connect it wired. I always plug the phone up to charge while I’m driving, and it seems like the wired would be a more reliable connection for CarPlay. Anybody have any advice on how to fix this.

I’ve tried connecting through usb and have never been successful. Emailed Dasaita and they said that if you a set up wireless connection, the wired will no longer work. Maybe try the other 2 usb connections? From what I’ve heard, the stock usb does not have enough power to keep your phone charged, and when I do plug it in, it does not. Bought myself a USB adapter to plug int the lighter socket for charging purposes.

So I turned off the Bluetooth on my phone, and just connected through the stock USB port and it connected to CarPlay immediately. So I’m guessing if Bluetooth is on it will connect wirelessly and the USB is negated. Also it seemed like my phone was charging just fine plugged in with wired CarPlay going. Now, i haven’t tested this on a longer drive though. The wireless CarPlay works perfectly though, I just wanted to know that the other option was available in case it had trouble connecting wirelessly.

Almost 2 freakin’ years with this unit and never thought about turning off Bluetooth or Wifi. Sure enough, this did the trick. Soon as I plug it in, it connects through usb. Thanks!!! Such a simple fix and hadn’t even thought of it.

well good to know it’s still working well after two years. I just got through installing mine A couple of days ago. I was wondering whether I should buy the three-year a Asurion warranty through Amazon or not. Just for added protection. Also it definitely charges faster through the 12 V with the USB adapter versus the stock USB port, but it still did make some progress charging when I was using the wired CarPlay. Just very slow.

How's the touchscreen on these things? Quick and receptive or laggy?
Anyone have the front Anytime camera hooked up to it?

Make sure it’s for the same model 4Runner. Canbus and wire harness should match or things aren’t going to work. Steering wheel controls will not work with wrong canbus, rear view camera as well.

Touch screen is very quick and responsive, even after 2 years with mine. No front camera here.

Thanks for the heads up! I FaceTimed with him and he showed me the unit turning on/off and interacting with common controls, including the steering wheel controls. He has the same year truck as mine so I hope it’s not a problem. How would I know which Canbus I need? I have a 2019 Pro with JBL

Best thing would be to check with Dasaita. Think a JBL requires a different harness and canbus, but if the sellers is a JBL as well, you should be ok.

Have you checked your connection? If it’s stopped working completely, that might be it. Maybe it became unplugged. Try a different t cord as well. Sometime phones and that usb plug are picky if you are using any cord instead of the proprietary one.

Wow! Just discovered this. I have a Sprint Drive hooked up to my OBD2 port. Serves as a hotspot for my vehicle. My headunit automatically connects to this hotspot so it has wifi. If I’m using wireless CarPlay, the wifi disconnects so it can connect to the phone. So if I want to use wifi on the android side, I have to stop CarPlay and connect to my cars hotspot. Always wanted to have CarPlay running and just be able to flip to the Android OS with wifi when needed. It just isn’t possible UNLESS you connect to CarPlay with the wired usb! That frees up the hu’s hotspot so it can connect to the sprint drive and remain connected to CarPlay via usb!!! Now I can switch between CarPlay and the Android os seamlessly and have a wifi connection on both OS’s. As far as I know, everything I’ve read says this isn’t possible.
