So I am going to rotate my tires. But when I do, the readings on the dash will not reflect the new location of the tires unless I reprogram.

How do I reprogram my tire sensors into the computer so that the pressure indicators reflect the new tire positions?

    Thank you.

Check your manual. It gives step by step instructions.

    It doesn't.

Before posting, I downloaded the 2020 Toyota 4Runner user manual and searched the PDF. There is information on TPMS, but this is a service question and something they want the dealership to perform as it generates revenue.

There is nothing about programming TPMS.

I've since found that my OBD2 reader offers a service feature which allows you to do so.

That's strange. On my 2022 Owner's Manual, pages 438-440 gives the steps to register the sensor ID codes, then tell you how to initialize them.

Definitely NOT an option on my 2016 TEP since the post and the subsequent comment assumes all 5Gen 4Runners are the same. ;)

It may be something offered in 2022 that wasn't in 2020

It is one of the functions you access from the steering wheel on the dash display. You don't need the manual as it is menu access and easy to do on a 2020 model. Once you activate the programming you just have to drive a bit to get it to register.

    Nope.

Lots of info about TPMS, but nothing specifically about programming new locations after tire rotation.

If it's there, then I'm just missing it.
