It looks that way. There was discussion of some last minute changes pushing the redesign back another year. And, they have no incentive to rush because people are still lining up around the block to pay MSRP+ for a vehicle that hasn't changed in 14 years. :D

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
Since the wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a new 4Runner at Thanksgiving I have been doing non-stop research (deposit in Jan)and from what I have gathered is because of the chip shortage/covid/supply problems and the fantastic sales numbers of the current gen they have delayed the rollout of the 6th gen and concentrate on other new model rollouts. We had originally planned to get a 6th gen (at t-day)but between what I saw with the immense turbo complexity of the new Tundra(bellwether) and the delay of the 6th gen we decided to go with a known quantity.

Toyota has everything in place NOW to continue manufacturing the 5th gen(body die stampings, assembly line systems…..etc.) and they are selling like hot cakes….why rush the change.
The most dependable information I think comes from a former Toyota engineering department head, he has a show called “Automotive Press” on Utube. He knows the in/outs of Toyota production logic and still has many connections within Toyota for information.
    Off subject…
He benchmarked competition vehicles for Toyota (now independent) and the latest from him is Honda hit it out of the park with the new Civic.

The last video that I saw said the 4R will change with the 2024 models.

While I agree this is garbage. Still better than the panel gaps and shorty seals on my Tesla. Man every time I washed that thing, I had at least a gallon of water in the frunk. This is unacceptable though for Toyota.

I've heard a lot of bad things about Tesla's QC, but impeccable build quality has never really been their selling point. Toyota is supposed to be all about quality though, and if they lose that reputation it will be a massive blow for them.

Poor QC was half the reason I sold the thing. Really hope Toyota doesn’t move in that direction. It seems that everything is though sadly

Picked up a 16 Platinum Tundra as these 5.7 V8's are proven to go 1million miles + if treated right. Just had fluids changed at 75k (both diffs and trans) and feels like new truck. Should have been done around 60k mark.

Agree the parts seem slapped on compared to 4Runner. The new Tundra looks alright to me but not a huge fan of even more safety nannies.

A lot of limp mode stories on the 22's doesn't inspire confidence either.
