looking for those running ORPs who have undercoated their KDSS trucks and whether they have had any issues down the road?

given the costs in repairing that system want to make sure it's going to be on the up and up.

Strangely enough I made this a little project to do this weekend. I've had my 2021 Venture for 2 winters so far. I rode it off the lot in Nov 2020. Today I decided to take the covers off and fluid film the accumulator assembly. I did notice an anti corrosion coating on the steel lines and if its anything like the coating on brake lines it does hold up but the fittings are bare metal and had some corrosion already. I think I am going to drop the covers once before, and once after winter every year to clean it off and re-coat in fluid film. Here are the pictures from today. FWIW I do live in a state that loves to salt the hell out of the road in the winter. You would think the salt is given away for free to the municipalities and highway depts the way they use it.

This is a great idea, I think I will do the same.

Rust inhibitors are common practice here in NL, Canada if you plan to hang on to anything for any period of time. I just recently had my '22 ORP undercoated using "Corrosion Free" here at a local shop and plan to do so annually. Fluid film is also a great product.

They may have sprayed yours already with the corrosion free treatment but I think if you take the covers off you may get better coverage. Also I was surprised on the amount of dirt and road grime that piled up inside those covers. It was mostly grit and a few small pebbles. I think its simple enough to remove them and at least inspect it from time to time. I plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off.

I did fluid film out of the rattle cans the first winter I got it but mostly on the frame. Its definitely a product that has to be reapplied every so often because there was no trace of it anywhere. I might invest in the kit where it comes with the wand and an air sprayer.

If I were to take care of it I won't rely on just rust proofing coating I would remove the cover and clean as I see lot of stuff there.

Yes as I mentioned I did take the cover off before I rust proofed it but the picture you posted is not mine. Mine had some grit and dirt but no where near what was in the picture you posted.

This picture from one of my videos. I want to do a video how I clean it (my buddy's 4runner with KDSS). It's very hard to find free time on weekends with a warm weather.

hmm, still got a can of chainwax stuff. It’s made to be be safe for o-ring chains, so yeah, it would follow it’s safe for the rubber bits under the 4runner. The stuff is pretty tenacious.

I did mine heavily with wool last year. When I inspect how it did over the winter, I might try chainwax on the high wear areas to see how it does.

    Is this the right product?
Are we sure it is safe to spray on KDSS? If so I will ask my buddy to buy it and keep it ready to use when I do it next time.
