Shifter light

Probably a stupid question but im dumb founded by it do the 2nd gen 4x4 4runner shifter assemblies not have a light? I drove greenie at night for the 1st time and there wasnt a shifter light. I spent probably about to hours trying to find the hookup for a bulb. So I have established they didnt have them or last owner did a really job of cutting it out. Any help would be much appreciated.

 

LOL, I haven't driven mine at night in years but I don't believe they have a light. I do know that there is a 4wd light in the dash for when it is engaged.

 

Ok thank you want to check before I looked like a crazy person going from pick and pull to pick and pull pulling out the 4x4 shifter assemblies looking for 1 with a bulb hook up

 

My mistake. I just checked it as it is dark enough in the garage right now. It does light up.
