Why is my 2011 Limited which I love like a child ringing periodically for like 5 straight seconds at a time while parked? It only doesn’t do it if I lock it and bring the keys inside.
Which is a pain cuz I love to just leave it unlocked in the garage with keys in it. So annoying! But I still love her lol

Umm the car is not off all the way (assuming you have a push start). The car was left in gear. Your battery is dying on your remote. Do you have any indicator lights on inside the vehicle?

    Thanks for feedback!
My son has left it in drive and turned it off before in the garage and it does get upset by that for sure but I never do. I’ve got no indicator lights on and I’ve put brand new Duracell’s in both my fob’s to see if that was it and it still does it! even when not in gear with good healthy fob’s
Maybe a sensor for the vehicle being in park is bad?

Is it simply because it was left unlocked with the keys in it?

Yes, if it’s unlocked with the keys in it it will ring like this every time and not stop until I remove the keys and get them out of range

It’s doing it’s job, and telling you not to be stupid and leave your keys in the unlocked vehicle.

I live in MI and not CA where everyone is an asshole, so I can leave my keys in it

I read on another thread something about being able to disable those features. In this case, someone wanted to be able to lock the vehicle while they were inside with the keys.

Otherwise, you'll have to live with the ringing. It's probably set up that way to keep people from forgetting their keys. If you don't want it to beep, you could always bring the keys in the house.
