Cali Raised LED Molle Panel Install

Hi all! I wanted to share my latest upgrade and installation experience for anyone who is considering the Cali Raised LED Molle Panel.
I did the driver side only.
I had my eye on this for over a year, and it went on sale so I treated myself! I love that you can buy each piece at a time and mix if you want down the road. (Driver side, passenger side, and shelf)
Packaging: this was packaged and shipped incredible securely, I received it with zero issues.
Instructions: The installation instructions are on YouTube, and are very very simple. The tools needed are a 10mm socket, flathead, Phillips, and m4 allen key.
Installation: this was so simple. I prepped the panel and the interior prior to installation, and final installation took less than 10 mins with basic tools.the only tricky-ish part is lining up the spacers and threading the long screws.
Takeaways: this is easily a 1 person, 30 min total job. If you have two people an extra set of hands would be helpful during installation and tightening, but not necessary.
The panel is extremely secure, and feels very durable.
I chose this over others as the bottom portion extends farther than any other brands I've seen so far. I'll update once I put it to a hard test, but so far I'm very pleased!

 

I'll second that review ... very easy. I just got the driver and passenger side. Nice fit. I am thinking of DIY'ing a ligthweight folding shelf for it

Got the same panels, very pleased! Did you notice the bottle opener on the aft end of each panel? Didn't know they had one until the install so I was even more stoked

 

Good timing. I’m gonna install mine today! A 10 min job hey? Challenge accepted. No way I can do anything in ten minutes.

Hate to admit it, but it was the bottle opener and the lower extension that sold me on the CaliRaised

I installed my panels today. Almost two hours start to finish. I did take 10 minutes though to physically lift the panels into place and physically screw them down

Still figuring out how to load them up, and my truck is a mess. Gonna play around with mounting stuff tonight!

 

Got some of my recovery gear, and winch extension cord up, with wide velcro straps (which surprisingly kind of a pain in the ass). Need to figure out something that will allow for easy on/off. The little visor organizer is just up with bungee, and it’s got my winch controller in it.


I bought a metal fire extinguisher mount and got some clippy looking nuts (dont remember what they are called) to mount the mount to the panels. Turned out as solid as the hardware holding up the actual panels. I have a feeling these little clippy things will be very useful with these panels.





The extinguisher is very easy to deploy from this position.

Takes a while to think how to best use the space. I’ll probably end up making a high attic with two metal bars. Just to get fishing poles up, and whatever else. If I make the bars close enough tolerance to the face of the panels it will act as bracing going across the car. That will definitely stiffen up the panels and make those two thin mounting bolts suffer a little less if I end up putting on significant weight on panels.

 

Looks great, well done ! LOL the yellow gloves are like "So, are we like, secure, are we safe, are we attached to this molle panel like our friend the fire extinguisher, or are we done for once this dude hits the brakes???? Ahhhhh!!!!!"

 

Don’t laugh, but for about a solid few minutes I was thinking the best way to “mount” the gloves, lol. Like, I actually gave it thought.

Then I actually broke free of my stupidity and just tucked them in there. Perfectly “deployable”. First thing within hands reach.

 

What straps did you guys use to hold your gear? Im new to using molle panels and also just got my panels today. Is it something we can pick up at home depot or special molle straps?

 

I just use Velcro straps. Have way too many left over but they’re useful for a lot of stuff

Council Tool Groundhog. One side for digging the other for chopping. Great for metal detecting.
