The black TRD rims look the best of all the rims, but how long does that semi flat finish look good? Has anyone had them for a few years or are they a fairly new design? I don't like the Gunmetal Gray ones as much, but they're gloss and seems like the dirt will be easier to clean and will look better longer than the black ones.

3.5 years and my black Pro rims are good. No issues.

Someone here posted a picture of their black 4Runner with the gold/bronze Pro rims and it looked fantastic.

The black TRD wheels are the hardest wheels to take care of that I have ever had. Can't just rinse them off like a satin wheel with a clear coat. So many crevices that you have to get into. I love the way the look. I absolutely hate to take care of them.

The $245 for the gray vs $1340 for black difference is just crazy! The vehicle we just bought was non-configurable even for wheels, so looking at paying the same $980 per set no matter the color. But now my wife says she likes the stork Off Road wheels, so may have to wait until tire replacement time to swap wheels. Hope Toyota still offers the TRD wheels then.

I was wondering about that. Maybe the right brush would help? They look like dirt will start to adhere to the finish and not look as cool in 7 or 8 years or so. How long have you had yours?

So far I've had them for a little over a year and they still look great. The key is to keep up on the cleaning and not letting the road & brake grime build up. I use the diablo wheel cleaner from chemical guys (non-acidic) and a flagged bristle brush. I then use a bristled brush to get inside the squares (crevices) of the wheels. I have seen pictures on some of the Facebook groups where the finish flakes off but I've had that happen to my other vehicles. I suspected it was from using harsher acidic cleaners to often. That is the reason why I use the Diablo wheel cleaner.
