New Eibach 2.0 lift installed. Drove a hundred miles or so. Alignment done at local shop. They said they had to reset steering angle through obd. Apparently that in turn set off PCS alert see dealer, that won’t go away.
Date set for dealer visit next week to look at. Contemplating installing original suspension and hopefully avoiding hassles. Then reinstall lift. Or saying F it and take it in the way it is.
It’s a 2021. Anybody with experience with this. Seen on the other forum that once alignment was done same issue with others.

I about to get a 2.5 inch lift on mine (waiting on suspension to be shipped). I have done a ton of research and this is the first time I have ever heard this. Maybe I missed it? That process just doesn’t make much sense to me but then again what do I know. Can you turn off PCS so it doesn’t alert while you wait to go to the dealer?

No. I’m guessing Whatever they reset was probably in a loop with the other sensors. Everything was good until they plugged in to the OBD port. I drove for a while and everything was fine until the alignment.

Why would they need to reset steering angle within the vehicles computer when performing an alignment? I think I'll probably have the dealer perform my alignment post-lift.. if I can ever get my hands on a lift kit that is.

If I was to do it over again, yes dealer work. Got in a rush to get it done because I didn’t want to wait. No mention of this happening before hand but they seemed like no big deal just take it to dealer!

Oh, no judgement made. I avoid the dealer like the plauge. But, unfortunately, perhaps this job is best left to them. *shudders*

Good luck, and please let us know what happens! This whole lifting and PCS thing is still new territory for us...

Have the dealer check your abs sensors / lines. It's possible they got kinked or cut when the lift was installed. Probably the rear ones.

It's been discussed on here before. The 2020 + have the PCS which doesn't always require recalibration.

Typically so far the leveling kits vs front/back lifts might have a higher chance, but not a lot of data to prove that.

I lifted mine (2020 ORP) and my buddy's 2020 Pro and no issues even after alignment.

Did you lift, or just level the front?

P.S. Had one other friend who DID have this issue, and the dealership just disabled the PCS, which is kind of a meh solution.

One dealer I called this was the first thing they said. I installed myself I’ll have to double check.

I lifted 1” springs in rear and about 2” in front.

Ok then that's not it. I see some people do 2.5" front nothing back. I was thinking the angle was too much, but in your case, that's negligible.

I agree. Nothing at all until it was on the alignment rack. I’ll see if I need to send them a bill or not

So the end result was dealership clearing code and realignment of sensors. $225 and all’s well!!!

Dang!!! That sucks. I am supposed to have all my work done at the end of March/Beginning of April. I surely hope I don’t get slapped with that on top of it. Bringing to dealer for Alignment so if there is an issue after alignment I won’t have to pay twice.

IT WAS MORE THAN LIKELY THE RADAR AND CAMERA had to be recalibrated not a sensor for $225. On a side note it would have been $270 here

I have a feeling it’s more than just radar and camera. Everything was fine until local shop plugged into obd and reset steering angle sensor.
Probably big information loop that doesn’t want to be interrupted.
    Any Toyota engineers on here?

I am having the exact same issues as OP right now with my 2022 4runner ORP. Installed lift over the weekend, couldn't get an alignment until today (wednesday.) I drove it around here and there for a few days with no issue, comes off the alignment rack today with PCS malfunction and Slip Indicator light on. Called local dealerships and they're refusing to touch or look at my 4runner due to aftermarket suspension and "liability" issues...send help..

The “liability” issues is a bunch of BS. Some dealers will work with you, call around to different ones if you have any nearby.

I’ve got one more Toyota dealership that I’m going to try calling tomorrow that’s decently close to here. Does it have to be a Toyota dealership or could I possibly try some others? That is possibly a stupid question…just looking for anything to go my way at this point. I’m going to call the alignment shop back tomorrow too.

I think it has to be Toyota as they’re the only ones that can access the programming required for the PCS light/system. If you find one that installs lifts they should be able to do it.

Have you checked to see if the wires for the abs sensors were damaged during your install?

When I was looking at a new 4Runner last year the dealership I use does lifts. The tech told me that on all the new ones he does a complete recalibration of the safety system after the alignment. They wanted $500 for the alignment install and recal. Plus the actual suspension you choose.
