Hey everyone. New to the forum, hope I’m doing this right. I have a 21 4 runner Pro. Anyone have any suggestions how I can carry a 15’ canoe? I believe it’s 40” wide. Seems like I’ll need something that will work with existing roof rack. Haven’t actually bought canoe yet. Thanks, Mike

I have a 2019 Pro and I just received Malone 65” rack that fits the Pro rack tubes. I’ll try and get some pictures tonight. I going to try it on the upper tubes first, and if that is to high I’m going to order a kit that removes the upper section of the Pro rack. I just ordered two pack canoes that I’m waiting for.

Different vehicle and I'm using a kayak, but the concept is the same. I attached Thule cross bars to my Expedition roof rails and this is how it works. Although I don't focus on it in the video, you can see where the Thule bars (or Malone as suggested) would mount to the factory bars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sS0zp3ti1mo

I’m definitely thinking that’s going to be the way to go because the canoe is wider than the roof rack as it sits. I’m concerned too about, say two cross bars on a relatively short distance length wise on existing roof rack. But then, I will have to secure the bow and stern obviously. Really appreciate you chiming in. Thanks, Mike

the pro rack is a basket type, so it needs some cross bars that will attach to the pro tube basket sides.
