    Lol, my favorite comment:

“Appears the Bronco had lockers the Jeep had 2 open diffs and the Toyota guy knew how to drive.”

I felt a little bad watching that Limited crunch it’s chin on the first one.

That sounds entirely accurate. I also think that the longer wheelbase of the Toyota favored this particular obstacle. But, just goes to show that driving skill is the most important thing.

Damn that hill looks steep. I'd be worried(probably irrationally) about the vehicle just flipping over backwards and somersaulting down the hill. Especially with a shorter wheelbase, like that Jeep.

Yeah, as maneuverable as those short wheelbase two doors are, and having such a good break over angle, I still really wouldn't want one for that reason.

I watch a lot of Jeep off-roading videos, and climbs that are super sketchy looking in a two-door Wrangler are downright easy looking when a Gladiator takes the same line.

I know. This one probably needs a trigger warning for people for causing feelings of discomfort, angst, and doom. Lol

This is why I tend to approach things slowly.

It's funny how that works. Most of the time, a shorter wheelbase is an advantage. But, once in awhile, a longer wheelbase helps.

There's an obstacle on a trail I frequent, where @McSpazatron and I both had to work a bit to get up. Then, a guy in a double cab Tacoma went up no problem.

Overall, I'd still take a 2 door Wrangler over pretty much anything for maximum off-road capability.

Anyone know where that is. Curious if it’s Rausch Creek as they all have PA tags.

I follow a page on IG called full size invasion, it's basically all full size rigs wheeling at Moab. It's amazing how some of these bigger trucks hit these obstacles, you would think that they're way too big to fit on a trail, but the longer wheelbases just kill it on some of these technical climbs.

You're right though, the SWB Jeeps are super maneuverable and capable, and actually where I'm at in New England those are probably the best setup. There's a local Jeep club that wheels on private land, and judging by their photos, a lot of those guys actually still wheel TJ's. I wouldn't even dream of trying to take my 4R down those trails.

Full size trucks can definitely wheel! I think a Tundra on 35's or 37's would be a kick-ass overland platform.

In 2006 when trying to decide between and a TJ and LJ Rubicon Wrangler the sales rep strongly emphasized that the longer LJ would be a better climber.

That's a crazy video! Amazing the way that jeep was suspended at the brink of it's apparent equalibrium point.

Yeah, or check out the Dodge/AEV Prospector XL's and Power Wagons.

Full sizes aren't ideal when your trails are tight and in the woods, but I think for the open spaces out west, full sizes are the way to go.
