I’ve got a spacer lift and haven’t experienced any problems other than I think the rear stock shocks bottom out when driving over a curb or obstacle.

Having said that, if I had the insight and knowledge that the two videos I posted here provide when I purchased my 4Runner in 2018, I would not have gotten the lift.

I like the look and the additional ground clearance is helpful when I’m under it changing the oil, but I am concerned about the long term effects on the suspension.

Rides like BEASTMODE on the trails.

Off the trails there is a stiffer ride, but I really love the body roll limitation. I recommend them every-time I get a moment to.

Wife has back troubles. That is why I went Ironman. She is so comfortable riding with me now. I also tell everyone to go with them. Smooth as silk ride.

Another question regarding lifting. Looking at the Toytec coil lift, it does say you should only use it if you have added weight in the front. I'm assuming that would entail a steel bumper or winch setup. Is this the case for all lifts?

No, not all. Some will have optional spring rates to match your added weight, or no added weight.

Ok cool. So I guess what it comes down to is I just want slightly larger/wider tires. Is there a way to do this without a lift that won't cause rubbing? Some trimming around the fender and a negative offset? That may end up being more what I'm looking for.

There are ways to fix slight rubbing.

One option is a 275/70/17 tire. But, there are very few options in this size, and most are LT (load range C or heavier) and can lower your MPG and affect ride quality negatively.

285's can usually be cleared pretty easily with a good alignment and wheels with a similar offset to stock.

If I were to go the westcott route and keep the trd pro fox suspension and add some 33s, would there be any downside? Would it reduce the quality at all from how it is stock?

    I would assume;

    1. Shocks won't have wheel articulation as a longer shock that is design to be used as a lift.

    2. The 2 spacers that go between the shock and shock mount + 2 spacers compressing the springs on the shock & spring fixing point would effect the ride a little. Maybe 2 spacers go on top of the rear springs would impact the ride.

    3. With a spacer kit or a spring lift kit I'm not sure if it would change the valving zones of the stock shock and would impact the ride quality (Theoretically).

Again all this is what I assume and I don't have this spacer kit or any other spring lift with TRD Shocks.

And what about the Eibach Springs that just came available for the TRD Pro? How would they differ (performance wise) from the Westcott kit?

Do you guys know how the OME Nitro kit compares to 2020 TRD Premium shocks? This is my daily driver but I want to lift for off roading and was looking at the same kit.... @kmeeg @Jynarik

Other Limited & TRD Pro all other shocks are same.

If you are looking to lift stock shocks + spacer lift like ReadyLift kit would be comfortable but OME Nitro shocks are very capable for abuse on trails even for some jumps at the cost of a firm ride. Also OME Nitro shocks will give you better wheel articulation after lift. I wasn't happy with onroad ride quality so would pick something like Bilstien5100. They will ride better but not strong as OME Nitro for abuse.

That is my personal opinion having stock shocks +lift vs OME Nitro vs Bilstien5100.

However OME BP51 would be an amazing setup, I guess but no personal experience.
