Silver 2013 TE here! Great looking ride, I love the stance and if I'm not mistaken that's the rarest color of this eddition.

Also, I love how whenever anybody posts up a OG trail, all the other TE guys come out of the woodwork to reply lol.

nice! OG 5th gen is my favorite honestly, never been a big fan of the 2014 refresh look, but ALL the aftermarket support starts there... oh well

more 2010-2013 TE owners, feel free to chime in and show off your babies!

OG trail is the best looking.

And if yours spent its entire life in California, then you are super lucky.

That silver and black combo looks so good to me. Looks better than my newer gen Silver TRD ORP I think.

I like the minimal black cladding, because those are the areas you’re most likely to scratch and gouge, and mine is scratched and gouged. If it was painted it would look like shit right now.

That's the problem with my white and silver 4Runners. When they are scratched its all black under the paint. When I got a quote it was around $1000 even if I pay out of pocket. I decided to live with it as it would be a never ending paint repair offroading.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm a big fan of the styling too. That's what sold me on the vehicle. Actually, I had thought that I wanted a 14 and up, and then I just happened to see this thing on AutoTrader and I was like "what is that!?" I went to go see it the next day, and was sold on it.

I think the only thing that I would have issues with finding aftermarket versus the later model, would just be one of the stealth front bumpers. They are out there, I believe LFD has one, and there are also hidden winch mods that I could go with. So I don't feel like I'm losing anything by not having the newer model. I have a more unique look, and a way better roof rack.

This is one of my favorite pics of my 4Runner, by the way. I took it at the beach parking lot last winter, there's a snow covered sand dune behind it, and it's sitting on a sheet of ice. The lighting in this pic was just great, it really shows off the body lines.

Really like the early 5th generation. I told my son he gets my 2011 whenever I get rid of it. That way it stays in the family.

C4 has a good low profile front bumper that i hope to eventually buy. i think victory 4x4 may have one as well.

I think the only weirder and more rare fifth generation besides the 2010-2013 TE is the Canadian 2010-2013 SR5 model which sort of looks like a TE but some of the bumper bits are painted.

I've never seen that one, I'll have to Google it. I always thought the oddest 5th gen's were just the 10 - 13 SR5s. To me. They just look like a Limited with small wheels.

@jbtaco2002 That is probably one of the best OG trails I've ever seen. I have a 2012 TE in silver that I drove three states to purchase three years ago, so I completely understand your excitement. Mine only has 92k miles on it at this point and other than retrofitting a 2020 nav head unit, it's pretty much stock. Not much into modding since the stock look of the TE is so good, but I have to say, those headlights are awesome! How much were they and were they hard to install?

Morimotos were $1100 and some change from trail grid pro, caught a sale i think. very easy to install, just watch any one of the headlight install videos on TY, hardest part is loosening front bumper to make room to remove and install, i didn't have to fully remove the bumper, just pull it out far enough to work the lights out them back in

@jbtaco2002 I'm so jealous! I've seen so many videos and pics of this place, it looks like a great time.

Unfortunately I leave about 3K miles away, in the Northeast.

You know, people can complain all they want about CA taxes and politics, but damn if they don't have some of the best weather and off-highway access in the country.

@jbtaco2002 The new pics from Anza Borrego are great! I'm jealous of the areas like this that folks out west have access to. We have trails here in the East but most likely your vehicle going to take some definitive wear and tear and possible damage on them.

I've been an advocate of keeping my 12 TE stock because I love the way it looks. But those Morimoto headlights are such an improvement over the stock ones... so I just purchased them. Though I'm not entirely convinced you are not affiliated in some way with the Morimoto company lol. Whatever, it worked, I'm sold.

    Nice TE!

If one puts a low-profile aftermarket bumper on this year TE, what part of the oem bumper gets removed?

i assure you 2 things... 1. the headlights are a major visual improvement over stock (mine were all cracked and faded), and 2. i am in no way affiliated with Morimoto! that actually gave me such a good laugh, i posted something about it on Instagram

my only critique with these headlights are the "Z" projections are very distinct ahead of the vehicle on the road at night, but overall light output and the quality of that light is far superior to stock

if you start buying more stuff, like kings are... i'm not responsible, ok! LOL :lalala:
