Hey if anyone can give me any advise that would be appreciated.
After installing new parts I’m getting no start or crank.
Replaced the alternator and starter yesterday.
The battery is new as well reading 12.2v and under load 9-10v.
I’m also receiving a code 21 any ideas where to start ??

More info is needed. Does it even click or make ANY noise when trying to start it. Was it starting before, or did you buy it that way, etc.......

Does not click, no noise. It was starting before until I decided to work on it ‍♂️
removed the coil pack and air hose in order to get to old alternator but I placed everything back in order. Probably got it out of timing or something. That wouldn’t explain the no start tho or maybe a loose belt. I’ll be diagnosing it today before I go to work hopefully I find out something.

Out of time would not prevent it from cranking. When you turn the key, do you get dash lights? it sounds like you forgot to reconnect something.

Start with the very basics. Is your battery grounded properly? ALL grounds for that matter. Starter? Alternator?
Also, when you DO locate the problem, be sure to share your findings with the forum. It may very well help someone else in the future.

If there are no codes, the check engine light will flash 2 times per second CONSTANTLY with no patterns or pauses.
Just Tested and got no codes when yesterday I was getting 21.

The battery under load is at 6V when I turn the key to the on position I get 5V.
The same reading with the alternator.

Try jumping it? Battery may be too low to start it. Easiest thing to start with.

    Charged the battery to 12v
Almost got a crank it was clicking like crazy.
Tested the battery with a voltmeter after the crank and it dropped it all the way down to 6V. It’s a cheap Walmart battery but it’s still new.

Installed a new battery it cranks but doesn’t start. I’m now getting a code 21 again.
When I crank it almost turns over but instead I get a back fire. Im getting a voltage drop somewhere. this new battery was at 12.7 and it dropped to 12.5 then went back up to12.6 under load.

Bad battery or alternator. It is not entirely uncommon for new parts to be junk.
My guess is one of the two. Had a similar problem with my '98 not long ago
Turned out to be a bad diode in the alternator.

Backfire is indicative of bad timing. But looking through what you said you've done, I don't see anything that would cause your timing to go out of whack.

As long as you didn't get so deep into the engine, and didn't get to the timing belt (chain?), the only way to really get things out of time is to have messed up plug or coil wires.

On old cars, with a distributor, if we didn't stab the dizzy in the right spot, we'd be out of time. 180 degrees out and we'd get some pretty gnarly fireballs out of the carb.
