I posted this on the Wheels forum but not getting any feedback. I am considering having my '16 stock SR5 wheels powder coated. I was hoping someone has already done this and can post a picture.

Also, any general feedback regarding powder coating would be appreciated. The shop that I spoke with asked if the center caps are aluminum, if so, he can coat those as well. Are they?Stock 4runner Wheels.jpg

Wow, 85+ views and only one comment. Tells me powder coating is not very popular with the 4Runner crowd. I get it, but.....I am a trendsetter. I picked up a set of the same original stock SR5 wheels off Craigslist for $300. The guy I purchased them from works at a Toyota dealership and said there is a local shop that does powder coating and can powder coat the plastic caps using a special process. We'll see. I really like the look of the stock rims and although the TRD rims are cool (and quite popular) I don't want what everyone else has and I think there is too much air/space and cleaning required. I prefer a solid wheel. I will post pics when powder coated.

black stock 4runner wheels.jpg black stock 4runner wheels.jpg Upon further review, I am not a going to be a trendsetter. Someone already did what I planned on doing. I am glad I found this picture. It doesn't look as good as I had imagined, so.....I am going with the black TRD wheels that many people have.

That's true, there are plenty. I had a nice set of Fuel Recoil wheels on my Tacoma.
