Playing a little catch up: Update on the Ironman FCP. I received the new strut in less than 5 days! Pretty impressed, now it is trying to find time to install it.

A little bit of an update. Haven't done much with her lately. Replaced the blown Ironman FCP front shock, did all six spark plugs, washed the engine up and cleaned the air filter.

How are you liking the Ironman kit? Any pros or cons, things to look out for? Im leaning toward these for my ride as well....

I'm really liking it. It rides fantastic and looks go. I did have a shock blow out but Ironman replaced it no question asked. Ironman told me the shock was GTG to drive on while they shipped out a replacement. Huge plus for that.

 

Did you get your Incog bumper yet? I'm looking at it as well to put on my 2022 Pro I picked up mid -Dec.

 

I absolutely hate FedEx. TSO shipped it almost exactly 4 weeks from when I ordered, which is what they stated in their lead time. It sat in Sacramento for a week and is sitting in Kingman, AZ for right now. No delivery date yet. Was supposed to be last Sunday.

 

Did you order it with the Bull Bar hoop? I was hoping to see what it looks like since the web site doesn't seem to have any pictures. Coincidentally I'm in the Springs as well
I do hate the idea of cutting anything, but this is my truck and no intentions of selling.

 

Bull Bar and 30" light bar cut out. I'll post pictures once I get it. Nice! Once I get it on you're more than welcome to swing by and check it out. I'm on the south end of The Springs, not too far from downtown

 

Those are the same config options I was looking at - the TSS and forward camera are a big consideration. I'm actually in Powers/Stetson Hills area and would love to check it out. What are you planning to use to do the cuts in the bumper?

 

I already have the "Viper" cut, but I am planning on running their High Clearance Armor. We will see when I get it though lol

 

In anticipation of my Trail Standard Offroad bumper coming in, I started wiring up the CaliRaisedLED Dual button switch OEM switch. Next step is wiring up the existing light bars so I can do a quick wire job when I get the 30" ExtremeLED X6s light bar.

Glad to see you finally got it - who is doing the Powder Coating (I live in the Springs too). Plans for which winch? I finally got my RSG sliders and put those on last weekend. Now it's trying to decide what to get next

 

I was initially gonna go to a place off of Janitell and Vegas but they wanted $350 for it. Ended up going to Colorado Powder Coating up in Denver. He does sand blast/zinc coating and powder coat for almost $100 cheaper. Dropped it off Friday and it was done Wednesday.

I really want the Gen3 Smittybilt X20, but they are hard to find right now since they just hit the shelves. Might install the bumper/light bar and do the winch down the road.

It is always trying to figure out the next step lol. I am ordering the fluids for the diff/t-case so I can get the done here soon. Need to still do the diff breather mod as well.

 

I have used a place called Taint Paint in the Fillmore area of CoS in the past when I did a full restoration of a 65 Beetle. They even were able to do the entire pan (bottom) of the car since they had a large oven also. With gas the way it is, I will try local I think. Have you thought about the Apex from Harbor Freight? Seems to have good reviews.

 

Ya, definitely probably ended up paying more in the end but my buddy used them and is very happy with how his C4 came out.

I have. Downside is that it is a “slower” motor. It is about $150 cheaper than the new Gen3 X20. The main thing that got me on the Gen3 was the USB rechargeable wireless remote.

 

Any updates on the bumper - pics maybe. Still not sure whether I need/want one - hate the thought of cutting a new bumper.

 

Sorry yes. Been dealing with insurance. GF crashed the Runner the other day, the day after I picked the bumper from Powder Coat. Luckily it was slow speed and the TSO wasn't installed. So install is gonna be out off since I need a new front bumper and grill.

 

Wow, hope she's okay. Guess as accidents go, seems pretty superficial though. Now you're going to be the one who will have to be cutting a new bumper

 

Going to be at least a new bumper and grill. Not sure about the upper grill though. She hit him pretty slow(15-20mph) and she is all good. Glad the bumper was on. Now I can do the the viper cut to TSO specs so it will be ready.

I meant to ask before, but how much was the shipping for that bumper? I've yet to come to terms with cutting on a new bumper

 

It was free for Black Friday. Not sure if it is still free. Got the light bar installed. I will be posting pictures here soon. If you plan on running an ExtremeLED light bar, there will be some modifications needed.

 

If you want to run the ExtremeLED x6s light bar, you will have to use the supplied TSO brackets. However due to the wiring the driver side bracket will not fit. I had to grind it down a good bit. The supplied ExtremeLED brackets will not work. I forgot to upload that picture but I will later.

Yes sir. I used to live in Buena Vista and had the Collegiate Peaks as my front yard.

 

I knew it! The sharkfin knife-edge on the north slope is so definitive. Love BV, if I could live anywhere, it would truly be BV! Our family had a mtn house there all my years growing up and into adulthood. The house was sold few years back but I still try to get out there once a year. Took my oldest boy for a week last August on a father-son trip. Here are a few pics of my 4Runner going back down the trail from the radio tower parking area below Mt. Princeton, I think around 10,500 feet. Bagged it the next day! I'm 43 and been going there since I was 11. Have never seen smoke like that rolling over the Collegiate Peaks across that valley. You can see the haze in the background from the fires.
